Great bag for the price!

Recently used this bag for a solo overnight on Mt. Washington. I have a 50-liter bag that I normally use for most backpacking trips, but I wanted space for more layers and food. The bag performed very well, although it took a while to get it adjusted perfectly for me. And you need to be careful how you pack it. You can feel hard-sided objects through the back panel if you place them up against it. After hiking a mile I rearranged the bag and it was great. The included rain cover is a huge selling point! I've already used it, as it rained on my way back down the mountain. Very simple to unzip the pocket and pull it over. No digging around in the bottom of your bag!

Great pack. Great fit. Lots of great features

Got this pack for a AT hike in spring. I have been testing it out for the last few weeks and have been very pleased with the performance. The integrated rain fly is very nice and the hip belt pockets rock. I like to keep my gear organized and the amount of pockets on this beast is perfect for that. I combined it with a 3L osprey hydration bladder that fits perfect between the frame and pack. I have a North Face Cat’s Meow 20 deg sleeping back that fits perfect in the sleeping back compartment and and TarpTent that I strap to the outside with the provided loops. Quality is A+. Fit A+. Design A+. I will have the pack for many many years to come no question.

If you need a weekend pack, this is it!

I bought the Osprey Kestrel 58 last February and have used it every from Rocky Mountain National Park to the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. It's been on extended trips (4-5 days), weekend trips and simple over nighters. It's super durable, fits exceptional well and isn't heavy. I can fit everything I need to in it comfortably without a problem. 2 Nalgene bottles will fit in the side pouches and remain there on difficult hikes. The only negative is that the straps show dirt after several uses.I'm 6'0" and a m/l fits me very comfortably.

Perfect

I took this on a 12 day trek in New Mexico, and have no complaints at all. It was very comfortable and I fit everything I needed in there easily. Some of the guys I was with had enormous packs that seemed unnecessary while this seemed to be the perfect size. It's very durable and had plenty of useful pockets on the outside to keep things that I routinely packed and unpacked. I couldn't have asked for a better pack and see myself using it for several years to come.

Carry your manhood around in a Kestral - 80lbs. at a time

I bought one of these a few years ago and it has accrued over a dozen patches from all the places I've used it. I carried everything I needed for a 6-day mountaineering adventure (granted there was some crap strapped on the outside (which is super convenient with this pack. Not many frills on the inside, which helps save space, but there are several 'hidden' pockets on the outside that are incredibly helpful. The brain is nice and big and is in my opinion the best feature.

This Pack is Amazing

The hip straps on this puppy fit my jagged hip bones like a newly washed pair of underwear. The pack is plenty large, and the pack has all the features you could ever want. The sleeping bag compartment is perfect size, and the straps for the sleeping pad are quite nice as well. Overall, it's great.

I just love it.

Osprey knows their stuff, there is a lot of really cool features on this pack. I really like the mesh outer pocket for stuffing snacks in, and the mesh waterbottle holders are actually usable. I'm trying hard to think of a negative but literally nothing comes to mind. And the lifetime guarantee is a nice addition!

You cannot go wrong with this pack

Great size, and features. Osprey has yet to disappoint me. It did take me a short bit to familiarize myself with everything that this pack has going on -- quite impressive! If you're looking for the ultimate pack for the ultimate extended weekend warrior, you've met your match!
