Great ... but this is just the start.

Rating:*****
A great fit for me ... it is sometimes hard to get a fit from an off the shelf system ... I am 6-2 220 pounds and the large fits great. The hipbelts are comfortable and love the mesh storage. The camelback hydration pack fits great and still leaves room for so much more. I have two children ... age 6 and 5 who have their own camelbacks with very little storage ... I can carry all the food and extra jackets with no problem. This is my first Osprey brand but much like my first experience with Montrail and Lowe Alpine ... it is great to try new brands because they may be better than my tried and true brands.

really nice, but get right siza

Rating:*****
I was really excited about the AirCore suspension, and the way the Stratos 24 I tried carried when I tried it on. I wanted a slightly bigger capacity, so ordered the Stratos 32, but couldn't find it in a medium frame. I ordered the "large", but after it came, realized my 5'7" height just wasn't a good match, and called the Osprey service people who agreed. Unfortunately, the "32" isn't listed on their website, and guess they're not making that size anymore. I'm really disappointed, as it seemed like an ideal capacity for me; but if you're a light packer, the Stratos 24 is still being made and is really comfy to carry.

Ideal hot-weather day/night pack

Rating:*****
The Stratos AirCore suspension creates a breathing layer between your pack and your back --- an ideal feature for hot-weather hiking (Southern California in August!). The hydration pack can either fit into this suspended mesh pocket (ideal) or inside the pack itself. The fit is superb. 25 pounds on a 9-mile afternoon hike was no sweat. No break-in, no rubbing, no sagging. My wife has the Stratos 24 and it felt the same way.
