Only a few complaints

Let me start by saying that I am happy with this purchase. The pack performs in all of the areas that it should; I just have a few minor problems.

For starters the 80L volume might be true but it is WAY too big to fit into the 80L Pacsafe net. I had to exchange for the 120L Pacsafe to fit around the whole thing when fully loaded with the daypack attached.

Second is that there are four straps to hold on the daypack with that seem largely superfluous and just get in the way with the Pacsafe net and any luggage conveyor belts the pack is going to travel on. The ice-ace loops are cute but really unnecessary because this is hardly the pack for the backcountry. The Sleeping mat straps are nice also and I may get some use out of them but it would be great if there was a way to tuck them away when not in use. Same goes for the daypack straps, you need to stuff them up behind the daypack but the waist strap works itself lose easily.

The four straps that hold on the day pack make it REALLY inconvenient to get into it when you have the whole kit together, however they do provide an added level of tamper protection because you are unable to lock the daypack to the main pack which is a pity. Also the daypack itself is not lockable which I see as a huge oversight. You also need to undo all four of the compression straps to access the main compartment of the main pack which gets old fast.

Great bag for a backpacker

I have flown twice with this bag. it holds up well. It has enough structure to back breakables (wine, packed well wit bubble wrap) but flexible enough to stuff in a car trunk with out room to fit a standard bag.

I packed a gallon of olive oil once and the olive oil can was dinged up pretty good, but the bag still looks brand new.

Backpack is nice, fits well. I would not take it on a hike, but its good for getting around town.

Plenty of side pockets and the daypack is nice.

It would be nice to have a camelpack in the daypack, but you can get one in there. The headphone hole will let you get the tube through and there is a pouch to put a water bag in. It helps to put a loop in to hang the water pouch from.

bullet proof and impressive - this pack is amazing

I love this pack it is everything you need, I also have the Atmos 65 for back country and I keep grabbing this bag for everything else. At first I did not think this bag was what I was looking for but it has really turned out to be my favorite bag, it has tons of inside pockets. I would consider this bag to be built like a suitcase with all the inside compartment for socks, drawers, toiletries, small item pockets for headlamps and other gear, plus a super large main compartment for clothes and even tie downs.Bottom line- this is an international travel bag, can go anyway and will perform beautifully.

Amazing Product, super slick

The waypoint is an amazing travel bag. It has all the bells and whistles of a travel pack, plus its big enough that i can give my gf piggy back rides inside the thing. The suspension system is killer with good ventilation, and the detachable pack is the right size for most adventures. Two small problems: the side zipper into the main area goes through one of the inside pockets, making it useless if you want to access the main compartment without digging through other stuff. The other problem is the day pack access is from the back, meaning the main compartment is not that accessible.

Very Intuitive

This pack is perfect. I wish I had this when I was in the Marines where we used the MOLLE system. It is extremely comfortable and intuitive. I absolutely love the ability to load everything from the front instead of the top. It makes it 10 times easier to keep your gear organized and doesn't force you to empty your pack to find something at the bottom. Plenty of internal pockets to keep your little stuff organized and accessible. The only gripe I have is that there is no holes at the top of the main pack or day pack for access to water bladders.

Pack up and Go!

Love the pac. First off the name Osprey is 1st class. Ive been traveling with them for last 5 years. I previously owned the porter 65. After 5 years of Asia/Europe/Central/Carribbean travel the zipper broke. I called osprey and they told me to send it back for free repair. They called a few days later and offered me a completely new bag of my choice. There PR is amazing! Very nice and efficient. The bag itself is set up prefect. Only rec is Osprey please make more appealing colors!

Just try it once, everyones doing it... nobody would not.

It's true, all the cool backpackers are doing it, you want to be cool, right?Seriously though, my friend bought one of these for his trip to Brazil and it was love at first sight. The backpack is well thought out, light, durable, and very intuitive. It has so many cool features that I didn't know I wanted until I got it.
