A warm, lightweight overboot for extreme cold-weather mountaineering, Brooks Rangers have been on the summits of the most punishing peaks in the world. A waterproof layer of coated 8 oz. packcloth lines the boot section, while 1000D Cordura® provides crampon-resistant protection along the inside of the leg and around the lower gaiter. AlpenGrip® provides traction and durability in the sole, toe cap, and lower foot areas. A Schoeller® Dynamic Extreme® leg section functions as breathable protection over insulated pants. Closed-cell foam insulation around the boot area traps heat and can be used with strap-on crampons or step-in models. Dense Poron foam in the insole prevents cold from passing through the sole of your boot. An instep strap inside the gaiter holds your heel down for a snug fit, and allows the Brooks Ranger to function as a bootie in camp.

| These are the gold standard in high-altitude cold-weather overboots. Be aware though that they are not immediately compatible with step-in crampons right out of the box. You WILL have to remove the foam and trim it in order for the bails to get proper purchase. | |

| Great overboots. I can fit my scarpa ski boots in them and wear them in my fritschi diamir bindings. Perfect for randonee skiing here in Greenland where it gets really cold. | |
