Outdoor Research designed the Women’s Chaos Insulated Parka for female climbers who need fluffy protection while they huddle at the belay, but this Primaloft coat works just as well in town as it does at the icefalls. Recycled Primaloft ECO Sport insulation insulates even when wet, and the Gore Windstopper shell fabric gives you complete protection from frigid mountain winds. The Chaos’ adjustable hood fits right over your climbing helmet, and the double-separating front zip lets you belay while keeping out the cold. Stash your goods in the hand-warmer pockets, and rock your tunes on the hike in thanks to the internal MP3 pocket.

Keeps me warm during long belays
| Rating: | ![]() |
I got this jacket for ice climbing in New England. Very few companies are making long, insulated jackets that are also TECHNICAL. This one does it and does it well. Finally, my butt stays warm! I got a small, which fits well for hanging out in town, but is too small for all my layers when I'm out climbing. So size up if you want it to function as a good belay coat!

A great parka | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is a great parka. It fits well, I love the color (persimmon) and, best of all, it covers my bottom! It is not for the coldest days unless you are being very active, but, for those medium winter days, with a fleece under, or more spring days, just a T shirt under, its really a great grament. | |

| Light weight, not bulky. I havent had an opportunity to wear it but I think it's perfect for running errands in and out of the car and my dog's hair will not cling to it. | |

A bit big | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I'm 5ft 90lbs but the size XS felt too big for me to be comfortable even with layers. This is a very nice, well-made lightweight jacket. I love the longer lenght, too! | |
