Best. Hoddy. Ever.

Rating:*****
This hoody rocks my socks!! It's got the ultra-warm, breatheable benefit of wool on the outside, and a soft layer of fleece for even more warmth and breatheability on the inside! This is a great piece for layering on really cold ski days, or just really cold Colorado mornings! This has a great fit, nice substantial feel and has worm really well I've had it a few months now. It looks dressy enough to pass for more than just an average hoody, but also feels good enough to wear with PJs. OR nailed it on this one--3 of my friends have the exact same hoody!

high five outdoor research

Rating:*****
This hoody is extremely warm when you need it and doesn't cause you to sweat in warmer weather. I wear this when it is gloomy and it seems to be water resistant although not advertised.Overall I would definately recomend. The thumbholes are my favorite part. You know when hoodies get kind of awkward looking after sitting the zipper kind of gets misformed. This hoody does not do this at all, amazing. I have dreads and really appreciate the fact there are no fuzzies that get left behind on clothes or end up in your hair!

Terrific color and so warm

Rating:*****
Given the subzero temperatures in Colorado right now, I'm thrilled to have received my new Salida Hoody, which I plan on wearing tomorrow. The eggplant color is delicious. I have a similar, maroon-colored Outdoor Research jacket without a hood that I received as a gift last year, and it keeps me warm, indoors and out. I'm wearing it now. These jackets should get me through to spring.

THE BEST HOODY OUT THERE

Rating:*****
This hoody is an exceptional value. The attention to detail is flawless. The seams are sturdy. The pockets (inside and out) are perfectly placed for comfort and ease of use. The polyester material inside is comfortable against the skin, and slides easily over layers. I've searched for the perfect hoody for a long time. Looks like I've finally found it!

Nice hoody/sweater

Rating:****
I guess this is really more of a sweater than a hoodie, I got it in black and it's more of a dark heathered grey color. It is warm, but definately pair it with a vest in colder weather, over all I like it.
Rachel at Moosejaw (Fall 2009) on 11/23/2009

Great color, fits according to size, love it!

Rating:*****
The material is soft to touch, the fitted hoody is comfortable but doesn't loose it's complimentary look. It is warm in mornings, and all I need is a vest over it for any kind of condition. I played rugby in it too.
Nicole Biss at Altrec on 10/14/2007

Almost unbeatable

Rating:****
The hood is great. The one thing I don't like is that the pockets don't have zippers, it would be nice to be able to keep things in them and not worry about them falling out.
Kim B at Mountain Gear on 04/09/2008

really like it

I am a diehard Ibex fan (I live in VT) but decided to branch out. I love this hoodie. I agree it could use zippered pockets, but other than that... it's great.

Negative Reviews:

warm mid layer but XS sizing terrible.

Rating:**
At first I tried on the small. The sleeves were way too long but the body length was good. I've tried on OR's XS in different styles which have seemed to fit well. Ended up ordering the XS size of the Salida jacket (same as the hoody, minus the hood and thumb loops, but it has zippered pockets).

I am very disappointed in the sizing. The sleeves are STILL too long on the XS, except now the sleeves fit so tight around my forearms that it is a struggle to take it off, much less wear anything long sleeved underneath. The body of the XS jacket seems an inch or two too short. And yet, the shoulders are too wide! I consider myself to be fairly slim with a petite frame. So why is the XS so wrong for me when the small is too big??
