Three in one jackets are not new, but the Trio Jacket from Outdoor research sure feels like nothing you have ever worn before. OR's Ventia waterproof and breathable fabric is more silky than crinkly, unlike polyester. The synthetic Enduraloft insulation is so light and fluffy, you might just think it is down.
Why bother with a quiver of jackets when you can have the versatility of the Outdoor Research Men’s Trio Jacket? This three-in-one jacket features a Pertex waterproof breathable shell with a zip-out insulated liner for a jacket option in any conditions. When it’s cold as ice and spitting sleet, wear both pieces together. For chilly but dry conditions, the EnduraLoft-insulated liner has you covered, and for soggy or humid days where you just need weather protection, zip up the waterproof Pertex shell. A zip-out powder skirt works with either the shell or the liner for further versatility.

A nice Pertex Jacket | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
A very light weight water repellent jacket. A good value. Tends to run small so move up a size if you can.

had higher expectations for a $280 jacket
| Rating: | ![]() |
The jacket is decent, but not amazing. The inside jacket is extremely flimsy (and not very attractive--I don't think I would ever wear it by itself). It is a shiny material, stitched into squares, like a down jacket (but thin, and without the fill).
