Outdoor Research Ultralight Compression Sack Reviews:

Awesome compression sack!

First let me say that I bough three different sizes of this compression sack (8,12, and 15) and they are all great. They are made from a very thin material but it is highly durable (as long as you aren't packing knives). I used one for my clothes, one for my bag and one for laundry. They can all pack A LOT of stuff down! I was able to save about 35% of my pack space by using these compression sacks. I would highly recommend picking them up. If you have a 50L pack like me, I would get all three to help separate your stuff in an orderly way. They are great!!!

at first sight skeptical, but it makes you want a second.

though this would be flimsy at first and not very durable and even rip once i put my sleeping bag in it. I was wrong to very wrong. I bought this to replace one that i had lost a while back that was durable and made of heavier material. This well surpassed my old sac and then some. its very light and very durable and folds into its own little sac, so its like a sac within a sac. truly great i will be buying many more of these for clothes, tents and then some.

Love it!

I bought the 12 L compression sack and it is great! I put my clothes in there and the bag shrinks them down very well. It also doubles as a good pillow, when it's filled with clothes. According to the packaging, the 12 L is supposed to be used for clothes and such, although I managed to fit my 2-person Hubba Hubba tent inside.Overall, a great purchase that saves me considerable room in my pack.

Way Stronger than You Think

I used this as a sleeping bag compression sac (the 25 liter). I have 0 degree sleeping bag that is pretty bulky. This sac amazed me at how much it compressed my sleeping bag. I was scared the first time that it would rip, but after about 2 months of rigorous use it is still good as new. And I love that it all stores into itself.

Great space saving sack-easy to use-and works well

Got a smaller sack to compress a winter coat for a spring rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. Hadn't used a compression sack before and I was sure glad I was able to take my winter coat for some chilly nights. When space is an issue--like rafting or backpacking, this OR compression sack sure does the trick. So glad I got it.

Absolutely and MUST HAVE!

these are priceless...seriously, if you're looking for a stuff sack, you've found it. I push and jar and yank and tug on these things and they're still in excellent shape. I can fit a FULL SIZE featherlite sleeping bag into the smallest one... i BELIEVE IT'S 8L ! ! Worth much more then they're charging. I will be buying more.

Great Sack

I have multiple OR products and they all impress me. This compression sack is not exception. It is crazy light and my sleeping bag fits great in it. It has been holding up great except for the stitching on one seam in coming out but that was my fault. Over all great compression sack.

Great Product!

I bought the 8L compression sack and am very happy with my purchase. I use a large daypack for 3-day hikes and this compression sack holds all my clothes, which allows me more room in my backpack for other stuff. It's light weight and very well made. I definitely recommend this compression sack.

performs great!

Got this for my husband since he's working in the backcountry of Washington this winter and needed a way to get his giant sleeping bag into his pack, got the 35 liter, knowing it would be super big, but it works great, cinches down his bag and extra clothes in a snap!
Auriel at Moosejaw on 12/03/2012

Very Strong. Lightweight.

This Outdoor Research dry sack is light, strong, and an excellent space saver. The bag shrink down to about half its size. You are able to fit an ample amount of stuff in there. The ultralight in the title really is true. Great if you want to shave off some extra weight.
