Great shirt for endurance running

I bought this shirt for spring and summer training for half marathons, and have not been disappointed by its overall performance. When it first arrived, the fabric felt quite stiff and I was worried it was not going to be comfortable. After about two wash cycles, it is nearly as soft as my silkweight stuff, so that worry was unfounded. The armpit area design is outstanding for hot sweaty chafe-prone endurance running- it has totally solved my chronic upper arm chafing issue that I get with nearly every other shirt-bra combo when running longer (7+ miles) distances. I rated this a 4 and not a 5 for a few reasons. For one, the sleeves are very long. Weirdly long. I think this would be great for boaters, paddlers, and maybe bikers- but this is a running shirt. So that's kinda of off-label. Further, I was disappointed by the lack of "viz" colors. I wanted this shirt in an obnoxious orange or yellow, and had to settle for mint green. The mint green (Spring 2012 color) becomes see-through when very sweaty and creates a somewhat comical bra-enhancing sweaty boob patch that might embarrass a more modest runner. So while this shirt is great in a lot of ways, a few little aspects leave something to be desired. Getting it in black seems insane because of the heat, but I can pretty much guarantee that white would be laughably see through. The newer bright pink might be a good compromise for the modest!

room for improvement

While i want to really like this shirt, i have had to return mine for these reasons. Depending on the cut, I sometimes can wear a size medium but mostly wear a size large due to muscular upper body and arms. I am athletic @ 5'7" 132 Lbs. The size meduim is too fitted, and feels uncomfortably confining, the sleeve length is appropriate. The large sort of hangs on my body, and the sleeves are inappropriately long. I went with the mens long sleeve forerunner size small, which is a very nice fit however i do not care at all for having the logo visible on my chest, and think all chest logos should be in a more discreet location.

All my expectations met!

I bought this with my honeymoon in mind, as I was going to the Amazon rainforest and needed some long sleeve, yet breathable clothing. It certainly proves to dry fast and keep the bugs off ! The only reason I even hesitated to give it 5 stars is because I do wish it was a bit thinner. However, I needed that 30 spf, so I can't complain. Overall an excellent product and I liked that it didn't fit me too tightly. I am typically a Medium in Patagonia but sometimes the shirts squeeze me. This one had a nice fit.

Fore Hiker, Fore Runner, Fore Biker

I bought the pink and it is light-weight, comfortable, quick-drying, nicely cut, moves well on my body for hiking, biking (adds visibility too) and I'll use it for running too. I've got size medium and I am 5'7" 132 lbs or so with long arms and it fits just fine.

great shirt

Purchased this for myself to use on cooler days when short sleeves aren't enough. Can wear with a vest & be comfortable walking/running with my dogs. Washes & dries easily & quickly.
