Patagonia Special Edition Wool Bombachas -
Our original Bombachas crossed the easy, balloonish volume of Japanese ironworker's pants with the ingenious adaptability of gaucho pants, whose three-button cuffs allowed you to “tighten down the bottom while riding through the calafate, working on high beams or bicycling." Our redesigned Bombachas for winter use come in a nicely heathered recycled wool. They may be worn as old-school cross-country ski pants or in the cabin while you prepare a cup of yerba mate. Wide waistband and belt loops and flat front add functional style. Inseam (size 32) is 31".

Patagonia Special Edition Wool Bombachas Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

I didn't find these pants to be uncomfortable or itchy at all. I found them to have a nice, relaxed fit, but they are not too baggy. They are warm, and they have the nice cinching option at the ankles. Also, if you wear them over another layer (long johns or something) for cross country skiing or biking, they are really warm.

Negative Reviews:

Itchy and unlined

I really want to like these pants. Cool, retro look, neat fasteners at the cuff which would make for great bike pants. And, something different than Patagonia's been making. Wool men's pants are normally at least half-lined with a rayon or silky material...good for smoothness and better wear. These aren't. Perhaps because the wool is recycled, they are also not a soft wool or one's that particularly enjoyable in the hand. The price isn't high for good wool pants, but it's too high for itchy, unlined wool pants. I think these would be fun in a cotton or moleskin, though.

Agree with prior comment

Many years ago Patagonia offered these in moleskin; they were great; I've still got mine but am ready for a new pair as soon as available in moleskin which I find much preferable to wool for comfort and multi-season use. Also, would like alternative color like dark brown, same as my current ones.
