With a cut long enough to cover a blazer, the Patagonia Men’s All-Time Shell Jacket gives yo9u waterproof breathable protection for those unfortunate occasions when you aren’t out playing in the backcountry. The H2No membrane blocks moisture on rainy urban commutes or walking tours of European cities. The detachable hood helps you walk into work with a dry head, and the jacket is fully recyclable through Patagonia’s Common Threads Program.

Shell for the Other 300 Days of the Year
| Rating: | ![]() |
| In a typical year I might spend a dozen nights in the backcountry, twice that many days hiking, and several hundred hours in fast-forward sports. The All-Time Shell is a good choice for the other 300 or so days of the year. It is light and compressible enough to stuff in a carry-on, long enough to go over a blazer and offer a bit more pants coverage in the rain, and conservative enough in appearance (particularly with the hood removed) to take you to appointments in many business settings. Construction and detailing are typical Patagonia – thoughtful and well done but not overdone. The fabric has a nice hand and soft appearance that disguises its raincoat function. The material is heavy enough to take a small digicam in the pocket without blowout worry, yet light enough to float atop an ethereal 850+ fill down vest when a little warmth is needed. I pick other gear when toughness and high breathability are needed, but suspect that in the long run the All-Time Shell will see much more use. You can bet it will be the shell of choice for upcoming trips to NYC and the Western Vermont frontcountry. Who says that business casual shells have to be cotton or leather, weight 3 pounds, and fill half of a carry-on? The surprising thing is that one doesn’t find shells like this in the product lines of other manufacturers. | |

Well Done | |

| Sailing here on San Francisco Bay can be cold and wet. I've been testing how the All Time Shell holds up to the test and I'm pretty happy with it. I don't think sailing was what it was intended for but it keeps me very dry. Its a very nice looking jacket with enough room to be an overcoat for several layers. At 6'6" I often times find patagonia products to be a bit small. I was really happy to find that the All Time XXL shell was big enough and long enough all around including the arms! Thanks! | |

So many compliments | |

| This is a great rain jacket. Its not thick so in cold weather you need to wear this over some long sleeves but its a great shell. It can be dressy without the hood, and more casual with it. But i've gotten plenty of compliments on how nice it is. It also makes you look slimmer so thats another plus. | |

The Coat | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| A perfect coat for wearing to and from the office and around town. It fits over a sport coat! I has all of the great alpine technology of Patagonia hard shells, but is designed for in town use (though it could be used on the trail, also). It packs small, smaller than an alpine parka. Highly recommended | |

Just a hint: Detail views don't work so well when the jacket shown is black. But thanks for showing detail views on your site; very helpful for comparison of products!

| This shell may be a little lighter than I would have expected but it does the job very well! | |
