Excellent wind protection

since I registered my account with patagonia I have been steadily buying various beanies. I am one of those people who doesent like hair and my head tends to get cold! I have tried several different beanies of varying materials and found that the fleece lined beanie gives extremely good wind protection(i work next to the ocean so wind is a major problem). I have yet to try it in an alpine setting but oceanside at 23 Deg farenhiet with 15 MPH wind was no problem! My only complaint is that it is a tad to short and does not cover the bottom of my ears

Way too small

I have a number of fairly old Patagonia beanie hats with a wool exterior and a Capilene lining and they are all significantly larger then this one. I wear a size 7 5/8 hat and this is just too small. It would be useful if you would make this in 2 sizes and add a larger one. I ordered this thru your webstore, had I been able to try it on I wouldn't have purchased it. On the other hand, if it fit me, I would rate it an excellent hat.

Perfect Beanie

I was a little reluctant to order this cap after reading another review claiming that the cap's lining is only stitched at the top. In fact, the lining is stitched at the top *and* the bottom, so the lining does not roll up. That said, this is an awesome cap. It's comfortable, warm and the lining makes it soft against my skin. I like it so well I ordered a second one in a different color.

favorite hat

this is the best beanie i have ever had. Got it a few years ago for christmas and during the colder seasons I don't go anywhere with out it. fits very close to the head, which I wasn't sure I liked at first but now I love the fit. It can either be found on my head, in the pocket of my retro-x fleece, or my mt. fitzroy down at all times.

best

This beanie is the best, I have had it for a couple years and it is hecka warm and comfortable. the fleece lining prevents itchiness awesomely. The only teeny-weeny beef is that if you have long thick hair, as i did when first bought it, the hat may slide up to sit on top of your head in a rather dorky fashion. if not you look like the G you are

Good Hat

Exchanged a reversible beanie for this hat because it was too small (kid sized). This seems to be a good size for me, but I could understand how it might not fit comfortably on some people.
Overall, it is comfortable and warm even in strong northern winter winds.
The only bad thing is that it can get a little itchy.

Not quite perfect ...

Great beanie; got it for Christmas and spent the holiday back east in cold weather ... totally did the job of keeping my noggin warm. However, I echo the review about the liner issue. It needs to be sewn to the beanie itself. Other than that, love it.

Nice and snug

If your head is a bit large, you're going to have to stretch this hat out a bit. When it first arrived I assumed it was a small, turns out that snug fit is key to the warmth.

Awesome!

The hat looks stunning, but its lined inside feels like the kiss of angels! You can't go wrong with a lined Patagonia, not to mention this one.

Great Hats I have several now.

Super warm liner around the ears. less material in the head area. Highly recommend for cold days.

Negative Reviews:

Too Small

Contrary to the previous reviewer, I have a large male head. Pulling it tightly down I was able to cover my ear lobes, but it was painful. Nice that Patagonia has a number of beanies, but they are all the same in design. How about one that has some extended ear protection for people with larger heads or desiring more ear protection? Loved the Vintage Fitz Roy: Bali Blue one - too bad I had to return it for the reasons above.

Liner issue needs to be fixed

I bought this linered beanie given the soft texture of the lining. Now, while the liner is stitched at the top of the cap, unfortunately, when you wear it, the two separate layers can roll around on the head. So, I exchanged it for the regular beanie which works great. It'd be nice if they modify the design to include a stitch at the border of the beanie so that it doesn't roll and fold over.

too tight!!!!!

could've been the best beanie ever had patagonia offered different sizes. the beanie is simply too tight and small and doesn't stretch. I'm average size and this thing is too tight. need to return it. the old style lined beanies from circa 1996/1997 which I still own had different sizes. too bad since this one could've been a home run!

Too Big

Beautiful, high quality hat but way too big for my head, even with my hair tucked up inside. (I have an average female-sized head, I think).
