Zip up the Patagonia Better Sweater Full-Zip Hooded Sweatshirt, and step out of the cabin for a weather check at 2 a.m. to see if the storm will break by morning. Spending another day in the alpine cabin would be OK because you have the Better Sweaters outer knit fabric and soft fleece interior fabric keeping you warm and cozy next to the tiny wood stove. When your turn comes to get the wood, the hood protects your head from the heavy snow, while the polyester fabric wicks sweat as you lug a days supply of wood into the one-room shelter .

Great Fleece, Fits Perfectly, Awesome Design, Holds Up Well In Weather

What initially attracted me to this product over other similar fleeces was the Arc'teryx-esque collar built inside the hood which helps keep the wind away without the hood up. It fits perfectly; I bought a medium and I am 5'10", 68 kilos. The sleeves are longer than some other jackets, which keeps my wrists from being exposed even when I stretch my arms out. The zipper is a annoying when I'm sitting down, but I'd say that's the only real negative. The jacket is quite warm despite the fairly light weight. Breathability is decent, not outstanding, but considering the price, impressive. Do not pay more for North Face and Hardwear counterparts; this is definitely the way to go.

Patagonia makes excellent products that fit well and are environmentally friendly.

The sweatshirt, although I ordered a wrong size from a different company, fits quite well ad feels warm and soft. The collar stands up for extra warmth. I am a first time patagonia shopper that has been drawn to this company becuase of their designs and their environmental activism, which to me, is the most important thing. I am also quite happy that the company regulates their production facilties to ensure that the employees are treated the same as if they were employed in the United States.

My hood buddy

This is a better product than it's current rating indicates. It does everything a sweater should do and then some. It is soft against the skin and warm to wear inside the house or out when it is too cool for just a shirt, but a jacket would be too much. If I could afford it I would replace all my cotton hoody sweatshirts with these. Also I have noticed only minor pilling as mentioned in other reviews.

Great, Warm, Comfortable.

The jacket is great for mildly cold weather, don't expect the better sweater to cut the Chicago wind at all, it won't. But its great for a short commute to work in a fierce North Carolina winter. The hood is nice and big if for those of you with a big dome.

This is a great jacket! Very comfortable and warm.

I have the 1/4 zip pullover and love it. It only made sense to get the hoody. It is a great piece and am very happy with the purchase. I have always had good luck with patagonia and this hoody is just another example. I would highly suggest this hoody for anyone.
Lindsay at Moosejaw on 11/01/2010

Gets the job done.

I got the full zip hoodie and i must say it is very high quality. It's both stylish and warm, and the neck piece is a very effetive feature. I thought $150 was kind of steep at first, but now i'm confident this sweater is worth every bit of it.

Better Sweater Hoody

A really nice hoody very well made and warm I own this and the regular better sweater both are so comfortable and wear them around town and the house. I would give it 5 stars if they put something in there to tighten the hood down
GBSMILING at Patagonia on 08/22/2012

I really have nothing negative to say.

This is my go to weekend wear around town to keep warm. I get compliments on it a good amount, and quite honestly could be used for a number of activities. Happy I got it.

Can't take it off...

Best investment I've made in a zip up hoody of any kind. Perfect for around the house, and styling at work. And the hood comes in handy here in the Pacific Northwest.
Translated1011 at Patagonia on 01/08/2013
I love this Zip up for throwing on to keep warm on my way to work or after a training paddle. Its comfortable, it looks good and its warm!

NO DRAWSTRING ON THE HOOD

BE CAREFUL BUYING THIS PRODUCT. If you are using it to protect against outdoor weather, the hood is almost useless. The hood is very baggy with no drawstring. Even a moderate wind will blow it off. And because of it's open construction it is no protection at all on a windy day unless you use it under a windbreaker hood that has a drawstring. Of course you are then using a wind breaker defeating the benefit of breath-ability. This is not at all like what I would expect from a reputable outdoor supplier.Patagonia has discontinued this item and I agree with them.
