Capilene survives Alaska!

Perhaps an incorrect title because it's really my use of Capilene base layers that help me survive Alaska's weather. I spend my summers guiding fishing trips in Alaska's Bristol Bay area. While bright sunny days are welcome. I only had one trip this year when it did not rain for the entire week. However, when the wind and rain does come I'm covered from head to toe. Layering is the best way to keep warm and I have found that Capilene in various weights, layered if needed is by far the best way to stay warm. If and when I do get wet, they dry quickly. I won't do a trip without a dry bag full of a couple changes...Eric

M's Capilene 1 silk weight stretch bottoms

These fit well, snug but not restrictive in any way. The comfort is the best I've found. These are ultra light weight as far as layers go but you don't even feel like your wearing them. I bought them for hiking and like them so much I just ordered more. If your going to be out in the cold and inactive you'll need more than just pants on top of them to stay warm but all I've needed while active. Hope this helps.

Fantastic

Way more comfortable than I expected. I bought these to layer under running shorts and they fit tight but feel super loose. Garment quality feels excellent and the price is fantastic!

bad evolution

I have worn silkweight bottoms for over 13 years and recently purchased this new generation online. I appreciate the attempt a tailored fit with new materials - form fitting with cuffed ankles - but the fit has to be more on point if that is the direction of the product. For a standard 32/32 the medium is tight waisted, long legged, and has inconsistent rise in the crotch. I'm wearing them but prefer the slightly blousy but fitting original. They layered just fine and fit on a medium muscular lower body
