The Patagonia Women’s Down Sweater is actually not a sweater at all. It’s actually a super warm insulated jacket. Those crazy Patagonia Outerwear folks must be losing their minds. At least they are good at making premium 800-fill-power goose down insulated women’s jackets. I wonder if calling it a down sweater when its actually a Superlight, windproof and water-resistant shell is false advertising? Someone should call Patagonia out. It could be a showdown. There could be gunslingers involved. No real guns though, just water pistols.
- Some of the Patagonia Down Sweaters for Fall 2011 are made with non-recycled fabric. If you receive a non-recycled version of a Down Sweater, the fabric color may vary slightly from the images seen here. Sorry about all of it, and please don't hate us.
Features:
and drawcord hem seals out drafts.
• Shell and lining: 1.4-oz 22-denier 100% recycled polyester ripstop with a Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish. Insulation: 800-fill-power premium European goose down.
• Weight: 320 g (11.3 oz)
• Material: Recycled Polyester - We recycle used soda bottles, unusable second quality fabrics and worn out garments into polyester fibers to produce many of our clothes.
• Technology: Deluge DWR - Patagonia’s proprietary durable water repellent fabric finish, Deluge DWR, lasts substantially longer than standard DWRs. Garments with the Deluge DWR finish have like-new repellency after years of extensive use.
The Patagonia Women’s Down Sweater utilizes featherweight 800 fill-power goose down to deliver reliable warmth for everything from backpacking to climbing to around town use. A durable water repellent finish offers weather-resistance.
Wear it for chilly nights of snow-cave camping, long bouts of slalom spectating, or snowshoeing when the wind's whipping and the temps drop - Patagonia's Down Sweater handles it all with 800-fill goose down. Long, cold days are made that much more enjoyable when you're protected by thick, 800-fill goose down with a windproof layer of ripstop polyester fabric coated with Deluge DWR so that light snow or mountain drizzle can't dampen you, your down, or your spirits.
Patagonia knows people like to be warm whether its a chilly night at home, or at 14,000 feet up. If there is a chill in the air then reach for this 800-fill down sweater. This jacket delivers minimal weight (11.6 oz), superb compressibility and high-loft warmth. And no need the worry about the elements; The ripstop shell with a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish is tear-resistant, windproof and made from 100% recycled polyester.
Specs:
Frosty mornings, crisp evenings and brisk mountain air all suit the Patagonia Down sweater well. Ultralight, windproof and toasty warm, it's ideal as a mid layer or as outerwear in chilly climates.

I wore my new jacket on a field trip to take students to a leadership conference. One of the kids remarked on the way back that down was coming out of my arm. Sure enough there was a tear on the arm!
No wonder it's so light. The fabric is thin and not rip stop! I had already tossed the receipt and package so had to get the cleaners to patch it up.
great quality and all, the only downside (big one) is that the color i bought was not as described (white).
the color is so light that you can see through , and this makes it a nad looking jacket, because instead of being withe, it was sort of grey and withe all over the jacet as you could see the down inside that was not all of the same color
