Nice Jacket | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is, in every way a jacket. It is much lighter weight than I thought but since the size was slightly larger than normal (ordered a small) I am able to layer a light fleece underneath. Wore this jacket during a week trip down around the Grand Canyon at the end of March. It was still really chilly down that way and this jacket did stop some of the wind...not as much as I would of liked. But all in all it kept me warm, dry, and stylin'. The fabric is really soft and stretchy, great for hiking, it also is breathable. The thin ice color is fabulous! If I wear the jacket by itselft...I tend to get a little cold if the temp is below 50 degrees. When layering it works until about 35 degrees. It has been great for early spring and early fall. | |

Wind resistant plus! | |

| A nice outer shell--I would reccomend purchasing a size larger than usual to allow for layering. I got a small and althought it fits nicely with a shirt underneath I am unable to comfortably layer a thicker fleece. Definately wind-resistant! | |

It's the sleeves | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I bought this jacket in the early winter of 2009. The sleeves are longer than that of any garment I've ever purchased from Patagonia (and I have quite a few). Only the very tips of my longest fingers are exposed. It's like the designers, or quality control, completely overlooked the fact that the bottom section with the zipper, gusset and gaiter would add to the overall length of the sleeves. I do occasionally need to alter the length of sleeves but these are extreme and will be very expensive to alter since it will be complicated; unless they can take apart the horizontal seam and raise the entire section. I did wear the jacket once and otherwise liked it very much - it performed well, was comfortable & functional except for the sleeves which were very annoying to constantly roll up & adjust making the wrist area very bulky. I also liked the aqua color & the contrasting color of the gussets was a pleasant surprise. Hopefully the current season has re-evaluated the design. I realize you can't fit everyone, but my size is relatively average and compared to the excessive length of these particular sleeves - one would have to be approximately 6' tall - maybe I got a defective one; or maybe you designed it for really tall women only; or maybe it was a general lack of oversight in the design - I don't know. It won't deter me from continuing to buy Patagonia products however because when you do get it right, no other manufacturer can compare. I'll save up for the alterations since the jacket is otherwise quite nice. | |

Hmmmm | |

| The color wasn't the same as shown on the website. There wasn't any white, just the mint green, which is really cute! The sizing is too big and it's not as warm or thick as I anticipated, since some of the reviews said they ski in it. The zippered cuffs are really neat and will keep the cold out. The description on the website says its windproof but the tags said it's partially windproof. I haven't worn it in cold weather yet, but I'm going to keep it and wish for the best! | |

great jacket but... | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I ordered this jacket a few months ago, the fit was great but I did return it because the seam on the inside of the jacket by the wrists agitated/scratched my skin. I had my husband put his arm in to see if I was over reacting but it did the same thing to him. So it fit great, very flattering, but hopefully in the next generation of the jacket the seam will change. | |
