Good practical pants from Patagonia
| Rating: | ![]() |
| These are good hiking or travel pants, high quality as always from Patagonia. I like the fit very much. I am a size 6, and the 6 fits me on the loose side but clingy enough to be flattering. The waist sits about 1 1/2 inches below my belly button, but it has an internal drawstring (the bow is on the inside) if you want to cinch it higher. The legs flare out slightly from the knees and fall a tad long, but not so long I step on them. If I roll up the legs using the buttons they have for this purpose, the pants convert into high-waters that hit a couple of inches above the ankle. The only "drawbacks" are that the material is kind of loud and rustly when you move, and the pockets are kind of old-school cargo pants pockets. Not super trendy, but then who buys orange hiking pants trying to look trendy? At least you'll never be hard to find if you're lost in the woods! | |

Changed for the worse | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I've been wearing and really liking these pants for years, however when I ordered a pair this year the style had changed a lot. The pants now seem to run at least a size larger than marked: the size six I ordered fit like at least an eight. To make matters worse I had confidently taken off the tags before trying them on (I have so many pairs I didn't think I needed too) and now I can't return them for a smaller size. The leg roll up feature also took a turn for the worse, I think: there used to be buttons on both sides of each leg; now there is a single snap on each leg which looks kinda crooked when rolled up. I still like them but I think they were better before recent 'improvements.' | |

no longer a mystery....
| Rating: | ![]() |
| i used to be a fan of the mystery pants but the intercontinental pants have become my fav. Honestly, i have both. but i like the fit better of the intercontinentals. maybe it's because of they have a lower rise. of course it all depends on my weight. some days i'm a mystery girl, some days, like today, i'm an intercontinental girl. i bought the shorter version for flats and the longer version for heels. even paired 'em with a silk shirt for eve. looked pretty great. super for travel, wrinkle free, lightweight. also, i like the hidden snap so you can roll em up but i would like a snap on the other side to hold them in place. | |

flattering and practical
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I tried on these pants after quickly realizing the highly sought-after Mystery Pants fit me poorly (very disappointed). I feel the Inter-Continental Pants are very flattering on me (5'4" ~140# -muscular legs and butt) - I purchased a size 6. The length is great and the pockets are well placed. I have worn these pants 6 times with only one washing and they are going strong. They pack well and are quick drying too. The strap to make the pants into capris is completely unnoticeable on inside of the lower leg. A little staticy, but I was warned of this by the Patagonia store saleswoman. I plan to purchase a second color--I love these pants. | |

Love, love, love these pants
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Main use has been for day hiking and camping but have been known to wear them out when I think the bright color (orange - but I love it) won't be too much for those I am with. I have a small waist, so the added inside drawstring is a great addition (too bad they removed it from the updated version). The fabric is soft, breathable and extremely comfortable for a full day of hiking. Only bad things I can say about them is that they only come in the one color and that the new version fits nowhere near the same. That's why I'm stocking up on these while I still can. | |

Durable, comfortable and sexy
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I love everything about these pants. The material is light and breathable which make it a great fit for warmer weather. They are very durable which is fantastic and it enables you to go on a long hike, followed by a romp in the park with your dog and still nice enough to go out and have a nice meal. My only think would be the size. I am very short and small, and the smallest size available still had to be taken in considerably (which added to the cost), but I would definitely buy them again and recommend them to anyone who likes a nice, comfortable yet sexy hiking pant! | |

Great pants | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| These are the most flattering pants I have worn in a long time. They are great for travel, and are not too snug for plane travel. The colors are good and the black ones can double for nightime in a pinch. They are tight when washed and then stretch out, so a belt can be necessary. I took 4 pair around the world for three weeks to the filthiest places and still wear them every other day at home. I did have a problem with stains on the nylon. One stain has never washed out, so be careful. All the archeologists I met had Patagonia pants also. | |

nice and light | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| (rating is within patagonia terms - meaning if they were made by another company I'd give them five stars - but my expectations are highest for P (and so I don't buy clothes from anyone else.) Super great for hot weather hiking. Comfy and cool and yet the material is strong and no fear of snags on tree stumps, rocks, etc. Seem to run particularly large. The single button to knicker them up is odd, as it doesn't quite keep them from unrolling on the inseam, and then they look quite peculiar. I have some idea I am not understanding the concept. | |

love the pants | |

| I have been in South America for one month and brought two pair of pants. Both Inter-continental one black and the other mushroom. I hiked for 10 hours in the patagonians and washed the pants that night. Dry in the morning and ready to start another hike. Wore them at night to nice restaurants in Buenos Aires. I wear a 4 and purchased a 4 and they fit perfectly. I love the light weight of the pants and wore capilene pants underneath when it got cold in Patagonia. Still so comfortable. When it rained, dried very quickly while hiking. Wears well. | |

Inter-Continetal Everything!
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Last year I purchased a pair of the Inter-Continental Shorts. I loved them so much that I picked up two pairs of the pants this summer. I lead educational trips to Alaska, USVI, Aspen, Montana, and Utah - with a focus on land conservations efforts by The Trust for Public Land. These pants are perfect for hiking during the day (with the option to roll to capris length if you feel warm), to wearing to an evening reception. The fit is very slimming, and they dry quickly which is great for someone like me who happens to spill a lot. | |

what happened! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I work in developing countries where the perfect pair of pants take me from the field to meeting government ministers (with a quick spray-down in between). I have older Intercontinentals that I LOVE because they're rugged, yet so beautifully draped. They are sleek, slimming, and functional. I loved that they didn't look like sloppy, frumpy, safari-adventure pants (you know the ones). Imagine my terrible disappointment when these new hideous pants arrived at my door. Patagonia has changed everything! These pants make me look like I have saddlebags! The cut is so unflattering and frumpy. Most disappointingly (because saddlebags aren't bad enough), they got rid of the hidden zippered pocket inside the front slant pocket, which was perfect for hiding all kinds of important documents (e.g., passport, money) without anyone knowing - genius! The new pockets are so large and baggy that things can easily fall out of them. The new back zippered pocket is very awkward to get into - and everyone can see what you're carrying. Patagonia did manage to keep some features from the old design: the great quick-dry fabric and the straight-leg cut. The only positive is that the waist sits a bit lower than the older version pants. Perhaps these would not be so bad if I never knew what they really *could* be. I do not even have words to express my huge disappointment. booo! Please bring back the old design! | |

Hum... thumbs down | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I thought these pants were really poorly thought out!!! First off I did not find these pants to really have any stretch to them. However, what was most disappointing about these pants was the fact the lonely snap on the mid-calf of the pant legs. They were an insufficient attempt of keeping the pants UP. There needs to be one on each side, esp. with this material that holds no shape, ie. a fold. I bought them with the idea that, while hiking a muddy area on the trail, I would be able remedy getting covered in mud by simply rolling and securing them up. The material has no stiffness and falls down with every step. Bad design. The R8 size were also long and needed hemming. Nice looking for city stuff, I guess. | |

Not for Rock Climbing | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I thought I was going to love these pants. The waist fit well. Unfortunately, the first day I wore them rock climbing by the end of the day I had multiple snags and holes in my pants (which has never happen with other pants). So if you are wanting something that will last and not look old and tattered right away, choose a different pant that is more durable. They will be a great pant for around town since they are super cute... I will just have to keep them at home next time I play outside. | |

Disappointed | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I loved the 2007 version of these pants so much that I bought three pair - wore them and washed them so much, I needed new ones. I was terribly disappointed with the look and fit of the new style - too wide and low in the waist, no string waist adjusment, unflattering cut/line around hips/thighs. Please bring back the previous version of these pants - they were perfect! | |

hugely cut | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I bought this pant expecting it may be a little roomy and I was SWIMMING in the size - - way too generous cut in the butt and thigh. I think I will need to order down a size or two. Not sure what measurements they used to design the cut but its not ideal for athletic build. Otherwise, nice materials and colors. | |
