Best River Shirt Ever

I own 5 of these shirts. 2 of them I've had for over 2 years and they're still in great condition. I've worked as a river guide in Grand Canyon for 16 years. I've tried everything from long-sleeve cotton to quick-dry button-ups, and nothing compares to this hoody for comfort and sun protection. It's like portable air-conditioning. The fit is loose, which is perfect, but it doesn't stretch when wet. The stitching and material hold up to the rigors of commercial river guiding. Over half of the 30+ guides that work for our company swear by their sun hoodies. Ditch the cowboy shirts and palm hats, this is all you need when the July sun is beating down on you and the temperatures are in the 120's.

Super Versatile Awesomeness

Nothing but awesome things to say about this shirt. Ridiculously comfortable. It did great hiking in 80 degree breezy hawaii with a baselayer, then kept me warm in a downpour in a jungle hike later that day. I was lazy and didn't put sunscreen on by the pool and was completely fine - my wife burnt with sunscreen on. It was a little toasty hiking in Yosemite in 75 degree weather with a baselayer but there's less breeze and more exertion required than Hawaii. Works as a great post workout cover up. Hood is big enough to cover the forehead or the eyes if you're trying to sleep. I will not leave home without it while traveling...ever...period.

I am a middle-aged woman and I love Patagonia's quality, but often find that the men's styles work better for me for tops and jackets. I know that there are plenty of other women buying men's styles here, because I've seen a lot of them personally. I bought this in gray and tried the white, but had to return the white because it was too see-through for me. Love this as an option for exercise/sun protection and much more. I've mostly worn it under other layers so far, here on the Maine coast. Want more colors! I also have 1 in women's because of the Nile Blue color and I like it, but prefer the men's

Very nice fitting breathable hoody. Keeps you cool and very stylish.

9/03/12This hoody was purchased for me from my gorgeous wife. At first I was not so impressed with it. After wearing it multiple times it grew on me immensely (literally)... It packs up very small which is extremely beneficial and it does not hinder any type of movement. It works very well for when you get to the summit of a low mountain and the chilly wind starts flowing. It also is very nice for casual dress or just running around town. It is extremely breathable and wicks moisture very well. Good at fending off wrinkles as well. I give this product two thumbs up!!!

Best Sunprotective shirt available

I am a roofer and wore this shirt for over a year whenever the sun was an issue. the color has bleached out but the shirt is awesome! All the stitching is holding up while I abuse the shirt in ways most people wont. I just bought 2 more so I dont have to do laundry so often. It is 105 today and 108 yesterday and I wore this shirt all day with the hood up, it breathes, wicks and protects. If you are in the sun, this is your shirt!

hoodie for Mex

I have been guiding Baja fly fishing for 20 plus years and am always searching for the next best product for sun protection. This lightweight hoody is light and airy and blocks the sun remarkably well. I found myself wearing it, hood up, until @ 11am when it got too hot to be covered, and a hat worked better for overhead sun. The hoody provided great protection from early morning angled sun rays that are often overlooked. Great piece of tech clothing!!

Best Sun Protection I've Found

I love this hoody. I spend most of my summers working river courses in N. America and it is perfect for keeping the sun off. This year I brought mine on two 30 day canoe courses in the Amazon and not only did it keep the sun off but helped with the bugs as well. It would be awesome if it came with thumb holes (I cut my own), that way it protects the backs of your hands as well.

I now own three of these and will buy another. I have two and bought one for my son. These sun hoodies are perfect when it's hot as they allow air to blow through. They are perfect in the sun as my wife is a surgical oncologist and demands that I cover up. So i no longer slather up with sunblock except for my face. Generous fit, light weight, just a great product.
