Patagonia Logo Hat Reviews:

Right on (your head)!

I bought this new hat when my fiance began refusing to be around me when I wore my old hat due to its age and condition. The new Patagonia hat is comfy organic cotton and is lighter than the standard baseball cap while retaining a firm brim (which I like). In my experience the hat also dries more quickly than a typical baseball cap. The closure in the back is comfortable and includes an elastic component that gives the hat more of a "fitted" feel. I also like that the logo (especially on the green one that I bought) is the same color as the rest of the hat. Yesterday my fiance and I went horseback riding in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Before we left she swiped the hat and wore it all day. Now it's her favorite hat. In fact, I wasn't sure I'd get it back from her but she's assured me that she'll share it with me.

Hats Off

I had to hide my old logo hat from my wife because it was so beat up from years of constant use she threaten to send it to the ball cap graveyard , so I broke down and brought another. I love ‘em, they keep the sun off my face, they look cool and best of all they dry fast when I get hot and sweaty from backpacking in Wild Nevada or when I’m building green houses at Lake Tahoe. I like the web strap in the back it allows me to chinch it down when the wind howls, not that it ever gets windy in northern Nevada. I would recommend the Logo Hat to my friends. BTW- I love Patagonia you guys rock. Every one that I have had contact with from Patagonia has gone out of their way to be helpful and kind, especially Lucy & Meghan at the Reno Outlet Store. Keep up the good work.

Best Hat Ever!

Ok, I'm a fan, what can I say. I've been wearing this Patagonia hat for the past 5+ years...maybe longer. I haven't seen them for sale for awhile now and was starting to think Patagonia had lost its mind and stopped offering it! I LOVE THIS HAT!! It is the only hat that fits my head. I have four of these hats in "active circulation." My girlfriend has started to wear them around the house too. I don't carry an umbrella -- I just pull out my hat... even when I have a suit and tie on. I love them so much I buy them in bulk. I have 3 on the shelf still in the original packaging. Funny thing is, she thought the tan hats were originally white. Oops, I guess I should open up a new one and throw the old ones out!

Neptune's Fees

I sail the Chesapeake Bay. It is considered one of the finest venues for sailing in the world. The elements are mild, for the most part; but a hat is essential. During all the season, hats are frequent victims of the "wind end" of the business of sailing. I buy 'em by the dozen, cause once it meets the water, it's too late to turn the boat around and retrieve it. Remember this is sailing. Not power boating. I only make my offering to Neptune with the best. Anything less would be cosidered an affront to the sea gods; and might result in unhappy times. Besides these are the most comfortable and cranial grabbing jobs around.

Fits kinds strange

Just got this hat in the mail and although the size is one size fits all it comes down over the top of my ears when I put it on. I think i have an average size head, when I purchase beanies (mountain hardwear/OR) I wear a size Medium, I just think that this hat runs a little big. Good thing my brother has a big head cause now I don't have to buy him a birthday present. As far as quality goes I have nothing bad to say about it. Its a good looking hat and if it were a size or two smaller it would be my new favorite.

Official Polling Day Hat

Good to wear even after casting your ballot, this hat is all function. Elastic in the adjustable strap allows for variable "wind loading." Slightly longer bill for shading and a thin canvas make it appropriate for summer days too. Only annoying thing is the strap is a little long (allowance for people with really big craniums, I guess) so it kinda' flaps around in the back. But I only notice it when I'm standing around waiting for my buddy to finish his d*** latte before we hit the trail!

Sizing seems off

I am very brand loyal to Patagonia. I hate not giving this product 5 stars. But the I found this hat to run rather large...as in deep. I am a 7 1/4 hat size. The Med was too deep as the hat came all of the way down on top of my ears, pushing them down. It looked ridiculous. The Sm is well, too small and not deep enough. Frustrating. I am sticking with the Med, hoping that it will shrink up some after wear and tear.

Very Comfortable Hat

It's hard for me to find a hat that fits my head right. Most baseball caps put a bit too much pressure on my temples and it gets annoying pretty fast. This hat doesn't. This hat is so stinkin' comfortable. I bought a medium and it's great...the large is for a pretty large head. I wear it everyday and love it. The fabric is light, but sturdy and the adjustment strap on the back is nice. If you like hats, get one.

Constant Companion

This is by far my favorite cap. It has accompanied me through everything from campus life and backpacking the Seven Sisters to doing relief work on the Gulf Coast. The organic cotton keeps you cool, and looks good on the trail or at the coffee shop. Polo, fleece, boardshorts...no matter what, this is the perfect hat for the occasion. I plan on ordering one for my girlfriend so she won't steal mine anymore, or at least I'll have a back up.

I stole this hat from my wife in 2004 during hurricane Ivan. She stole it from some guy in Alabama. So far, it's been through several other hurricanes, fishing trips in the Gulf, camping in East Africa, and recently the hands and mouth of our one year old son. I am only just now replacing the hat after an unfortunate cleaning incident involving bleach. It probably would have lasted for years. Its a tough hat that fits perfectly.

Negative Reviews:

logo hat

Looks good but fit is awkward as the sides hang too low and smash your ears down and out making you look goofy. Does not fit like all my other hats.

Nice Hat

My head wasn't big enough to fill the hat. The reviews I read sounded SO promising, I bought 2. Now I have something to give to my more well endowed friends.

Easily Discolored

My sweat stain bleached the hat after not much use.

Order one size smaller than normal

This hat is sized extremely large. I have a large/XL hat size and ordered the large size. I had to adjust the back strap to its tightest in order to make the hat fit. However, this caused a "ramping" effect of the material at the back of the hat because of the excess of material being bunched up. I own at least a half dozen Pat. hats and have always ordered the large. With this version, I had to return the large for a medium. This size fits much better.
On the plus side, the material of the hat is heavier than recent versions and seems more durable.
I still prefer the early editions of this hat which was made with a twill cotton that seems substanially sturdier than these lighter-weight hats.
Spinner5 at Patagonia on 03/07/2010

I like everything about this hat minus the fit.
The Good: The material is great and it does an awesome job of wicking away any moisture. It also dries fast and makes an excellent hat for out on the trail. In addition I love the fish logo and it is perfect in scale and color.
The Bad: The fit, the fit, the fit. I ordered a large which is what I wear in every other hat. I even wear a L in other Patagonia hats. This cut is just way too big. Order a size down and you should be just fine.

Simple clean hat

This hat is lower profile than expected. Fits snug to head. I have an above average head diameter and the large had plenty of room to adjust, almost too much. Clean simple hat.

Logo hat

great feel, lightweight, great adjsuting mechanism, but nor enough room in the front. Could be designed with ample room in teh forefront to have a better fit on head.
