The open steppes of Chile dish out expansive views, constant wind and fluctuating temperatures. Soften these extremes with the Patagonia Merino 3 Classic Crew for Men, the ideal go-to fall/winter merino layer. Merino 3 is made with 6.9-oz merino wool that has an extra-fine-gauge yarn for softness and a jersey-knit construction for durability. It naturally resists odor, moves moisture away from the skin, regulates body temperature, and stretches to accommodate your every move. The pack-friendly design includes raglan sleeves, offset shoulder and side seams, and underarm panels that allow a full range of arm motion. Slow-washed merino for next-to-skin softness. Machine-wash cold; lay flat to dry.

Trying something new. | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| So, I am a little biased because I love the wool 2. I have 4 now but decided to get one of these and try them out. For the weight, I think the sleeves are just a little too long. Well that is for me anyway. It is a great product, maybe just not for me. I do use it regularly, but more for a running outer top in med-cold conditions. I do not like to wear things over it. I would still recommend this for people. | |

all around everything | |

| The description is spot on. This top is not super-sheer, which is good as it keeps you warmer than the ultra-light stuff. It is moderately close-fitting, so you can layer it, like on colder runs, bike rides, XC backstuff. It has longer sleeves and overall length, which helps even more with thermal protection in those areas. When not exercising in it, I wear it around casually too, as it is very, very comfortable, much better than a cotton tee-shirt. Need more colors, to be sure. | |

Great Item | |

| This item plainly illustrates why Patagonia is well worth the money. This Wool 3 crew is well-made, silky smooth, and comfortable as all heck. People who think that wool is scratchy will never believe you when you tell them what it is. And, as advertised, I can wear this for days without the stinkiness that pervades many synthetics after an hour of use. I expect to be wearing this for years. | |

More like "Wool infinity"

| This layer kept me warm and toasty (not like burnt toast, but golden brown with real butter and some Den Gamle jam... you know what I'm talking about) during sleet and rain in the North Cascades this fall. The ribbed siding is also a hit with the ladies. | |

Serious Warmth | |

| More structure than than the wool 2 but bulkier, doesn't layer quite as well under an R1 but sure is warm when you need it. Super verstaile and can be worn just as a shirt when you need to look decent while outbound. | |

Over bridge and through the woods.

| I use this as my baselayer for my work commute. Riding (mtn bike) from San Francisco to Marin, where temps can shift 20 degrees from one side to the other. It keeps my core warm, stays warm when wet, and drys quickly. | |

Patagonia Wool Shirts are Amazing
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Perfect baselayer. Another home-run by Patagonia, this piece is near perfection. The cut is like other Patagonia products I've tried - intelligently tailored to be trim but never restricting. If you need a baselayer, Patagonia Wool is the way to go. | |

Love the warmth | |

| I have an older version of the crew and I wear it basically all winter long. Love it for warmth. Perfect second layer for travel. You can't go wrong with this as a baselayer or just around town. | |

Love patagonia merino | |

| As a female, I went to the men's line for a little roomier fit. I wear this crew as a light weight sweatshirt and love it. I have several patagonia merino items and love them all! | |

Excellent in all aspects

| I have used this for work and also for hiking with great success as a stand alone or a base layer. Soft enough to be used for either setting without it being scratchy. | |
