A purple pack of pockets

I was looking for a bag that could handle my daily stuff and a little extra when needed. It needed to be durable enough to withstand dirt, water, my dog, my boyfriend, and my job. I am outdoors around animals a lot and indoors working in a kitchen. My Mom sends me awesome purses and I end up ruining then or carrying them with a grocery tote of extras that didn't fit. I have had the bag for a couple weeks and I love it. I don't worry about it getting dirty or too wet, the finish is sturdy. It is big enough to carry a lot of little things in all the pockets and a few larger things in the main compartment. The color is bright and cheerful. The only things not so great are the velcro tabs. I hate small bits of velcro. Cloth gets snags when it sticks to it and I always end up scratching myself on it. It even sounds tacky. They could have used snaps. Also my water bottle, a standard metal kleen canteen doesn't fit well in the side pocket. It fits but the bag is lop-sided and it's hard to remove. However, It did fit nicely inside the bag in the corner kind tucked under the flap where the strap connects, so no bother. Velcro aside the bag is quality and I look forward to giving it much adventure and abuse. I think it will handle both.

Love this bag!

Love the Purple/Pink color. It has an equally nice contrasting green-ish color inside. The inside laptop slot fits my 12.5" Lenovo Twist laptop perfectly, which is to say it would be snug for a FAT 13", although it has plenty of stretch. The adjacent inside space is roomy (holds 8 1/2 x 11 papers or folders perfectly), it's very lightweight, and has several zipper pockets. The clips would ensure it would not come undone on a bike ride (vs. say velcro), although I don't plan to ride to work with this, so... I can still carry it using the top handle, without securing the clips, if I just want to pick it up quick and move it (this is important to me). I do wish the strap had a pad on it, but then it is so lightweight (as is my laptop), that it really hasn't been an issue. There is plenty of space for a charger and other do-dads too. Very nice balistic style fabric, with a bright reflective strip on the front. The slot on the back is closed with a small piece of velcro, so I have been slipping my phone in there when I need to access it quickly. There is a nice spot for a phone inside though, and pen slots, etc. too. Exactly what I was looking for!

Perfect Travel Companion for Everyone

This bag fits the perfect bill for everyday travel wether within the city or overseas. With all the different pockets both inside and outside, every modern gadget (even a tiny umbrella) has its own place to be stored efficiently making it a breeze to locate them anytime still leaving you with a lot of room in the main compartment. The elastic mesh divider inside serves as a versatile divider for your tablet and the rest of your stuff. The quick stash pocket on the top flap provides a great place to store small items like money, candies, keys, etc. And with its overall size, there's no doubt it will fit under the seat on a plane still leaving room for your feet.

The only caveat I have is the absence of strap padding which at least can be bought separately from another brand. But honestly with all the nice features of the bag that shouldn't bother you at all. Important note though: if you're planning on getting one for your MacBook or laptops of that size, you might find it a little tight.

Light,well made, easy to carry

I have the half-mass, which I use to carry my (much larger) 17" Macbook Pro. Now that I've upgraded to an iPad with a bluetooth keyboard, I need something smaller, that I can just throw in the back and take off to wherever I need to be that day. The mini-mass has plenty of room for everything I need - and even fits my Macbook Air! It's a nice, well-made, light bag that is perfect for any form of commuting.

I've also used to for day hiking, and it carries everything I need including my GoPro, water, lunch, and STILL has room for my iPad!

If there was one thing I'd change, I'd add a shoulder pad. The strap is long enough and wide enough, but a pad for long hikes wouldn't be unwelcome.

Perfect bag for traveling

I purchased this bag specifically for taking on our 2.5 wk trip to Europe. I wanted something that could hold my iPad, maps, water, and other misc items as needed (umbrella, scarf, light jacket, purchases, etc.). This bag proved to be perfect. I liked the back pocket for quick access to maps; water bottle holder was great to have. There are enough pouches for me to hold all the random things (ipad charger, pens, personal items, etc.). It was almost TOO big, as I kept putting more things in there and then it started to get heavy!! So, that's why I think a padded shoulder strap would've been nice, but overall, I am very pleased with this purchase!

Just right

I volunteer doing light field research. This bag is just the right size to hold my clipboard-organizer sideways, and still have enough room to carry the field guides, water bottle, pens and whatnot, and other stuff, as well as a rain jacket, and enough pockets for all these stuff to make the obsessive-compulsive types like me weep with joy. When everything has an intuitive and sensible place of its own, it makes things so easy to find. It's like carrying a desk around, except it's really light.

Essential to my day

I originally purchased the Half Mass, but when it arrived, I realized it was much larger than I initially wanted. I toughed it out, but eventually, I returned it and purchased the Mini Mass. I have not regretted this decision for a second. I just wish I had done this sooner. I love the Mini Mass. Perfect size. Good and practical compartments. I love the Oasis Blue.

just right

I love this bag. I like the color fine (taupe? with purple zipper), but would have preferred more options. I wonder if the strap will be gentle enough on the shoulders of my clothes, as there is no cushioning at all. But the size and compartment arrangements are just right. Seems very well made. I look forward to years of use.

Stellar bag!

I purchased this bag as a multi-purpose day bag and baby/kid bag- to haul around those extra things you need for kids. It's perfect- enough room, but not too big that it's cumbersome. As always, this Patagonia product is high-quality.
