Finally Form Meets Function!

As an ex-competitive swimmer I have a hard time finding bikini bottoms that fit my small hips and even smaller butt.... but I finally found 'em. I wear a jean size 25 and the XS fit like they were tailored for me! I can finally go do laps, kayak, run on the beach or just hang out and not have to worry about my suit falling off or getting those horrendous Speedo 1-piece tan lines (if you haven't picked up on it yet- this suit is great for those suffering from vanity).
THANK YOU PATAGONIA- can't wait to get another one next year!

Great Fit

The Adour is about as small of a bikini bottom that I would dare to wear (yes, I'm a little shy) but the fit is perfect. The sides draw a nice line just below the hipbones. Given that the cut is low in front and high in the leg, its is a big relief that this suit stays firmly in place. You won't be constantly adjusting this suit; you can actually move around quite a bit without worrying about adequate coverage. And, they look great peeking out from under my Meridian shorts when I'm running around in the sand.

on the edge, but go for it

Mom of 3 yr old and 9 month old. Wanted to not look totally mom this summer. Combo of this bottom with sports bra like swim top looks really good. The skimpiest I would dare to wear. Looks very good from the front, on the edge of my comfort zone look for the back but I doubt I'll be looking better in the future, so went for it. I am finding that "full coverage" actually makes me look bigger.
Of note, I normally wear size small and had to send back and get xs. 5'6, 120.

A little sexy

I am used to wearing brazilian bottoms, but I have moved to a place where people are more modest. I was feeling a little bare wearing my small brazilian bottoms and wanted something more modest. This fits the bill. Not so big that my whole bum is covered, but not super skimpy. I took this in my regular size and don't experience any pinching or squeezing. This is my first purchase from Patagonia, and it is a fave! It doesn't move around and it's super comfy.

Perfect fit

I ordered these in an XS and wasn't sure how they would fit since it was through the internet. I usually wear an XS, so I was pleased that they were true to size. I like that they cover just enough but still are flattering. When swimming laps they are comfortable and don't ride up or fall down. I really love this swimsuit!
Dani at Rock/Creek Outfitters on 07/07/2011

cute without being too skimpy

I find this bottom to be true to size if not just on the edge of being on the small side. Be warned--the leg is cut a little higher than some other models, thus (a) you'll def need to be cleaned up down there and (b) if this bothers you, perhaps the sunamee style is more for you.

Ive been looking for a bathing suit that is flattering and still sturdy enough for a day swimming in the surf or cliff jumping. this bathing suit is great, i am 5'4, 110 lbs and wear a 34B, I got the XS bottoms and a S top for this set and they both fit perfectly

great simple bikini bottom

The only problem I had with these bottoms is that the back is a little skimpy. They are sized a bit smaller than much of patagonia's gear, so I would recommend going up a size if you are on the fence. I really like where the waist sits, its very flattering and comfortable.

quality product

I like the tight fit to keep it in place but I could have taken a size up in terms of front-to-back coverage. My crack nearly shows. I'm 5'7 140 and not super in shape... ordered a medium, could have gone for a large. owell, still gonna wear it.

Quality Made

Took these bottoms to Thailand. Cute and well made. Patagonia sizes tend to be smaller though (made for active, fit people), so even though I am 5'3'', about 118, and don't have a big bottom at all, a medium was the size I needed.

Negative Reviews:

Sizing is strange

Maybe it's just my body, but I found the sizing on this to be really strange. I wear a size 4 or a small in most Patagonia items, The medium on this definitely cut into me in an unflattering way at the waistband The large was better, but it still didn't fit, and the XL solved the waitstband problem but was too big everywhere else, so I found this to not be appropriate for my body type (which is pretty straight/athletic). Such a bummer because I really liked the cut! So cute! I didn't find it to be as revealing as the other reviewers, but I feel like you need to be very svelte to pull it off.
RachSails at Patagonia on 08/12/2012

Not as flattering as I hoped..

The backside cut just didn't work for me. There is a lot of material on the back and it made my butt look saggy when it really isn't! I tried the XS and it was just too tight at the hips, and the S fit but the backside reminded my of my son's diapers! I have an athletic build I went with the Bayonne bottom (super cute) instead and that one really complimented my shape to my surprise.

Neutral Reviews:

WAY smaller than expected

because ordering swimsuits online can be tricky, i used a tailor's tape to make sure i ordered the correct size, according to the sizing chart. unfortunately this did not work for these bottoms, as they were still VERY snug. i recommend going at least 1 size up from what the chart recommends.
firegirl at Patagonia on 05/11/2010

Teeny Coverage

I should have bought these one size up from my usual size -- the seat coverage is much too skimpy. The styling is cute and sexy but you may want to consider buying the next size up for comfort and a little more coverage.
JHay at Patagonia on 08/27/2012

Not for me

Not a good fit for my body type. Too small in the bum. Cute print though.
