Big-time warmth for seriously cold fun. This coat's tear-resistant, 3.5-oz 100% polyester variable-ripstop shell has a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish and double-layer nylon twill panels at critical areas for excellent abrasion-resistance and wet-through prevention. A highly compressible layer of 200-g Quallofil® polyester insulation provides no-nonsense warmth. The removable hood fits over beanies, and a drawcord secures for a more inclusive fit. Additional weather-stopping details: a nonchafing fleece-lined collar; a full-length wind flap behind the zipper; cuffs that adjust with hook-and-loop-closures; a hidden zippered chest pocket; insulated handwarmer pockets; and an easy-glide polyester lining. Finer points include a mini powder skirt that snaps into the coordinating Kids' Puff Rider and Snow Bum pants, an integrated drawcord and cordlocks on the bottom hem for a secure fit, a hand-me-down ID label inside, a reflective logo and articulated elbows to ease the motions of skiing and boarding.

The Patagonia Puff Rider Jacket keeps your kid warm and comfortable even when the icicles on the house are two feet long and the sidewalk is frozen solid. Lofty Thermolite synthetic insulation ensures your little one remains toasty through the coldest winter day. The Puff Rider Jacket's DWR-coated ripstop shell keeps the insulation dry through a backyard snowball fight, and the hand-warming pockets thaw fingers when it's done.

My 5 year old wears this jacket. It is not as bulky as a regular ski coat, but bulkier than the regular reversible puff ball jacket my toddler wears. Both , I think, are equally as warm. This jacket is definately heavier duty. I wear the hooded micro puff jacket, which is the same weight as my toddlers reversible jacket and it is amazing!!! Anything with the words Patagonia and puff together are a sure shot!! 2 thuimbs up!! | |
