Solid Base Layer, Casual Style
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I like this piece a lot: First of all I got it in the leaf green which has to be my favorite Patagonia color at the moment, but a side from that it really is great for when the weather is cool to cold. When it is on the cold side, I can wear the R1 Flash Pullover running alone and be very comfortable with the absense of wind. When it is really cold, this is the perfect layer to have on between an ultra thin capaline style base layer and a water/wind proof shell for activities like cross country skiing (I went last week with this combo). It also is awesome with jeans to just kick around in style! Love it! | |

Awesome mid-layer | |

| This top is made for back-country skiing. I layer it with a wool or capilene crewneck, vest and a winter shell. It breathes enough on the hike up but maintains warmth on the way down. I like the long torso so I can tuck it into my long underwear. I only wish it had thumb holes for extra hand warmth (I can never get enough of those). Overall I think it's a great buy and am waiting for spring sales to buy another one in a different color so I don't have to wash it as often... | |

Love this Fleece | |

| I purchased my first R1 pullover at least 5 years ago. My friends and family will tell you that a ski day didn't pass that I didn't wear it. This is a problem when you telemark (therefore sweat), and ski many days in a row without washing clothes. My budget requries Pati' purchases during sales, and I didn't manage to find this on sale until this year. Now I'm a proud owner of my second R1 Pullover. Of all my Pati' gear, this is my favorite due to its warmth and fit as an under layer. | |

my very fav fleece (and now my mom's too)
| Rating: | ![]() |
| i like the new longer length in the waist; sleeves still nice length for tucking my hands up in when it's chilly but i don't need gloves; chest pocket is excellent sized for the quick stash of cell, or a couple cards and key, as needed, whether sedentary/town stuff or more aerobic trail romps; love the weight and the smooth face. I feel like there could be a size between the small and the medium for womens... but maybe that's the men's xs?? | |

Amazing, Versatile Item

| I think every outsdoorsperson should own an R1 - or three! It is such a fabulous layer. The more recent versions of it do run rather slim, though - if you don't like that, order up. I like the slim fit for warmth and layering. The only negative I have for this item is the way the hem stitching has ripped on mine, I think because of the stretchy material it's sewn onto. That is very minor, though; the R1 is so amazing!! | |

I miss the pocket | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| My 5-year old R1 is my favorite garment ever, but it was starting to get a little worn so I ordered a new one. (It's been worn HARD for the past 5 years and has held up amazingly well). I was sad to see that Patagonia omitted the zippered breast pocket in this year's model. That pocket was super handy; I used it all the time, and I will miss it desperately! I hope that the pocket will return. | |

A great pullover | |

| This pullover fits well and is extremely comfortable and warm. I use it when I ski and for fall golfing. This piece can be used in conjunction with the capilene long underwear on moderately cold days to spring days. On a really cold day it can be used as part of a layering system. I recommend throwing the down sweater over it. I think this piece is so useful and versatile, so I bought it in every color! | |

Most Versatile Pullover
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I love this pullover and I have it in two colors. I think that the sizing has changed a bit through the years - I used to buy a Medium becuase of the length, but now I am fine with a Small and I haven't shrunk. I use it for everything from daily use to a running top and heavy midlayer for skiing. It is nicely taylored, hits almost at mid-tight and it is slim fitting. | |

Great all-round product

| This pullover does double-duty as a the top layer in colder temperatures or as a single layer on cooler mornings sitting on the deck with a cup of hot tea reading the paper. Versatile enough for part of a working layer of insulation while ski patrolling the slopes or the one pullover you reach for to take a morning stroll when the air is still crisp, but you don't want the bulk of a jacket. | |

fit=funky (for me) | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Like everything I have owned in the "R" line, awesome product. I ordered large, as it specified a slim fit (I am between m and l). The top is really trim through the natural waist and quite big in the chest. Would be uncomfortable to put even the thinnest layer underneath. As is true with other Patagonia, LOVE the length in both the body and sleeve. | |

too big in chest! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I always wear a medium (5'7, 135 lbs, 34A) in Patagonia tops, however, the chest on this pullover was huge--i had a bunch of extra fabric in the arm pit area which would have been alleviated if I had a bigger chest. I exchanged it for a small, which was better in the chest, but almost too tight in the waist. The length and material, however, are fantastic! | |

Too roomy | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I don't like the new design at all. I wear an xs, and the pullover is sloppy looking even with something underneath. I wish Patagonia would go back to the old design, and if someone wants a roomier fit, she could just go up a size. This doesn't look attractive. I would not recommend this to someone who normally wears an x-small. | |

| I love my old R1, and the new one is nice, but I prefer the old cut (and the old color options!). My older version fits better in the mid-section and in the arm length. Plus my old one is M and I had to go through two orders to realize my new size is a S. | |
