Patagonia Women's R1 Pullover.
The optimal hooded midlayer or baselayer for alpine endeavors in demanding conditions, our R1 Pullover is made with Regulator grid fleece for outstanding stretch, breathability, compressibility and durability. Sunrise to sundown, from epic approaches to alpine traverses, the versatile R1 Pullover stretches, breathes, moves moisture and insulates. Made of Polartec Power Dry polyester (41% recycled)/spandex fabric with a high/low grid interior, it provides enhanced breathability, superb compressibility and stretch, has a terrific feel and remains durable and warm. Sized to accommodate light underlayers, it works as a stand-alone top or as a light midlayer. This season we gave its curves a serious makeover, re-sculpting the pullover with a more feminine-specific technical fit. The smooth, microfiber face layers with ease, offset shoulder seams provide pack-wearing comfort and a zippered chest pocket holds essentials. Versatile R1 fleece provides excellent stretch, warmth, wicks moisture and breathes in a variety of temperatures. Interior high/low grid fleece enhances compressibility, airflow and dry time. Microfiber face speeds dry time and allows for easy layering. Off-the-shoulder seam construction reduces bulk while wearing a backpack. Pullover is updated with a more feminine fit. 6.8-oz Polartec Power Dry 93% polyester (41% recycled)/7% spandex. 274 g (9.7 oz).
The Patagonia Women's R1 Pullover is a light weight, highly breathable fleece jacket designed to be worn alone or underneath a shell. This Patagonia women’s fleece has High/low interior grid-structure which enhances compressibility, airflow and dry time. The Women’s R1 fleece pullover also has great moisture wicking capabilities which makes this Patagonia fleece a front-runner in the world of women’s mid-layer jackets. This fleece is almost as good as hot apple cider and doughnuts on the first crisp fall day…almost.
Desert sandstone, December powder stashes, iced-up corners - whether the sun shines or the snow flies, the Women's R1 Pullover by Patagonia stretches, breathes, moves moisture, and insulates. And it just got better: Patagonia worked with Polartec to fine-tune the high/low interior grid polyester fabric (Polartec Power Dry) into an updated exclusive that's more breathable and compressible and has an improved feel and durability while still maintaining its warmth. Sized to accommodate light underlayers, the R1 works as a stand-alone top or as a light midlayer. The racerback shoulder-seam configuration enhances mobility and pack-wearing comfort.

This is a great layer!!! I will agree with the above review that it is a very snug fit. I am 5?3? 125 lbs and the Medium is perfect. I recently went on a camping trip and brought this as my warmest layer. It rained the entire time but it kept me warm and I stayed dry with my rain jacket over it. I read other reviews on other websites and there were a few that said the hood was too tight around the neck. This is one of my favorite features. It has a snug fit and covers up to your nose. I am a ski patroller and this will be one of my favorite layers in the winter for skiing. It will keep the cold winter air and wind out of my ears. Other great features are the thumb holes and the length of the jacket is great. I love that it isn?t short and does not allow air to travel up the bottom. Very warm, very practical, multi-use layer. I bought 2 more!
I love Patagonia's R1 material. It's the perfect layer for the fall and spring and great for chilly mountain mornings. But, when they call this cut "slim fit," they really mean it. I usually wear a medium in Patagonia (including a "slim fit" softshell jacket that I adore) but there's no way my shoulders and lats (39 inches) were fitting into this medium. I tried a large on in a store and that was way too big, so I guess I'm out of luck. I have a more square-cut men's one already, which is why I can attest to the awesomeness of the fabric, but I wish I could get one fitted to me!
