"I just got the Patagonia Re-Tool Pullover like 3 weeks ago, and I already love it. This fleece kept me warm and cozy on a hike of Pictured Rocks Lakeshore Trail, even in the unseasonably cold temperatures. Layered under a shell, the Re-Tool Snap-T was a perfect insulator around a fire on Lake Superior. I'm such a badass. The fit is flattering, but it's cut so you can layer up underneath it, and my Patagonia R1 fit super comfortably underneath. It was only 35 degrees outside: seriously cold. Anyway, I tend to cry a lot, too, and I find that the Re-Tool's sleeve absorb my sad, sad tears better than any other jacket I've ever worn. I'm just kidding about the crying thing."
The Women's Re-Tool Snap-T Pullover by Patagonia is a warm and technical jacket with feminine seaming that is great for active days outdoors during the changing seasons. This fleece pullover features a stand-up collar with 4-snap closure that is reinforced with Supplex nylon to help protect your body's core temperature. The durable Polartec Thermal Pro polyester fleece has extra-long fibers for greater warmth retention, effortlessly wicks moisture away and dries quickly, and is incredibly lightweight and compressible. The kangaroo handwarmer helps protect hands and fingers from the chill when the temperature drops, and a single chest pocket that secures with a Supplex snap-flap to hold small essentials. Designed with feminine seaming to offer a stylish and comfy fit, this fleece pullover is great for your next day hike, camping trip, or simply enjoying a evening on the town. This Patagonia jacket is recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

People must have led hard lives 20 years ago in winter, when the state of the art fleece technology was the plain old Polartec 200 or 300 weight fleece - the flat faced, "once you wash it it would pill", and not-at-all-warm fleece. The re-tool snap T on the other hand is extremely soft (don't worry about washing, it'll get softer, just don't machine dry it), extremely warm (due to the long snuggly fiber), and looks really good on. I set the room temp to 69 and just wear a t-shirt and I'm warm. It's the only fleece I need for winter. Love the kangaroo pocket - good for warming up hands, but not so good for layering under another jacket.
I have 2 of these, and wear them throughout the winter. After 2 seasons of hard wear, they look still quite new, other than the fleece bands at the cuffs. Sure other brands have their equivalent (e.g., Mountain Hardwear Monkey Women), but these look casual enough that doesn't sport the "look at me" look. Get these for the cold months.
Personally I don't consider this a technical piece compared to other fleeces I own, but this one looks damn good (got the dark blue/purple color) and does the job as a casual everyday fleece. Very soft inside and out. I wish the soft plush material lined the kangaroo pouch pocket. The pouch is my favorite part. I throw everything in there. The stand-up collar is awesome because it always stands up even when unbuttoned, unlike some collars that fold over like a polo shirt collar. One tiny gripe is that sleeve cuff isn't the stretchiest, so it feels a little tight when pulling the sleeves up. Got the XS and it fits relaxed, not tight and fitted and the collar buttoned up is just right without feeling like its choking me. Another awesome thing about this is that it comes in pretty much every color of the rainbow (not all on backcountry.com, but check out the patagonia website). Might go for the hooded one next.
