Patagonia Roger That Hat Reviews:

Positive Reviews:

Stewie: Alright Brian, I'm gonna go up to the upper level and run this wire down through the wall. Grab your walkie, I'll call you when I get up there.
Brian: Okay.
Stewie (over the walkie-talkie): Brian, pick up. Over.
Brian: What?
Stewie: Brian, please say "over" when you are finished talking. Over.
Brian: (sighs) What? Over.
Stewie: Do you see the wire yet? Over.
Brian: No.
Stewie: No what? Over.
Brian: No. Over.
Stewie: Okay, I'm gonna start feeding it through. Over.
Brian: Wait, If you haven't started feeding it, why'd ya ask me if I could see it?
Stewie: Didn't copy that. Over.
Brian: I said why did ya ask me if I could see it if you haven't started feeding it. Over.
Stewie: Oh that's better, I can hear you now. Over. Do you see it yet? Over.
Brian: You know, you're a jacka**. For the record, I don't wanna hang out with you anymore when this is over.
Stewie: When this is what Brian? Over.
Brian: I said, I don't wanna hang out with you anymore when this is over.
Stewie: When this is what? You've got to finish your sentence. Over.
Brian: That's it, my sentence is over.
Stewie: Your sentence is what, Brian? Over.
Brian: My sentence is… wait a minute… I have to say over, even if the sentence ends with the word over?
Stewie: Ends with the word what, Brian? Over.
(the wire descends through the wall)
Brian: Oh, I see the wire.
Stewie: You see the wire what? Over.
Brian: Over! (Brian pulls sharply on the wire, pulling Stewie down with it)
Yeah. this hat is that good. great adjustable fit, killer oganic cotton and of course, nothing like wearing around a hat that says getting dirty since {before i was born}.

This hat doesn't make any sense. I was hiking the ridge at Bridger Bowl, outside of Bozeman Montana, for some preseason turns. Got to the top, took off the hat, and squeezed.... 350 gallons of water dropped out of this hat like a tidal wave. This hat has the absorption powers of a sponge god. If it wasn't so damn good at being a hat and looking sexy, the "Roger That" could easily make a living cleaning up radioactive waste spills, transporting vast amounts of water, or drying up the great lakes. Besides all that, the hat fits great. It covers a huge amount of your head, but thats a good thing, the design just begs others to compliment you, and the material is made to last. Long story short, if i was a hat... Id do filthy things to the "Roger That".

Does it fit big heads? Roger that.

People often say they have big heads but, then again, they haven't seen me look for hats. (I have a big and wide head.) Most ball caps look like I stuck one of those kid-sized propeller hats on without ever seeing a mirror. The Roger That hat, though, fits me the way a hat ought to. The crown comes to a reasonable distance to my ears and doesn't look like too small. With that said, I can understand why people think this thing is "too big." But you won't hear a single complaint out of me! I only wish I had enough money to buy more. After all, the organic cotton and soft hand to the fabric make me feel like I'm pampering my head.

Deep Seat Goodness

My biggest gripe with most modern style hats is that they are way too shallow. I don't have a huge head, but I hate feeling like I am wearing a beanie like the ones worn by the pledge class in Animal House. The "Roger That Hat" has a nice deep profile and you can pull the thing down over your eyes if you need to go incognito. I like the light weight, but not cheap feeling material too. Now, I only did not have to cut the silly lining that makes the hat sit up light a 10 gallon hat. In any case, this hat is well made and stylish..what more do you want?
snackapotamus at Patagonia on 09/14/2011

good quality/strange dimensions

This is a great hat, great material, great build quality. The strange thing is the deep hat part, the hat doesn't sit on the top of my head because my ears are in the way, the actual hat is too deep. The brim is fairly short too, which makes it look a little weird when it's just sitting there; the hat part is pretty big compared to the bill. I don't know why it's like that, but I still wear it. Great quality as expected, maybe if you have a bigger head this hat will be perfect for you.
forthesun at Patagonia on 08/17/2011

I checked these out at the local Patagonia store, but ended up going with the mesh trucker hat, as I like the two-tone colors and the texture change with the mesh, as well as the ventilation on that model.
This style is every bit as nice as the mesh one, and you do get better sun and mosquito protection with these. In warm and hot-weather climes, you also get the benefit of the evaporative cooling off your noggin because of the organic cotton cap. You can't go wrong either way...

Patagonia has my favorite fit on hats. Not too much like a tight baseball hat and not too much like a gangsta hat. Brim is not totally flat but not too flimsy either. Best use is for casual chill days, not a technical hat for long hikes or water trips (I like my hiking/tech hats to breath more and wick better). Prussian Blue is a SICK color, and the black is nice enough to use for formal occasions (at least what I consider as formal).

Brady at Backcountry.com on 09/14/2012

cool hat withlogo

I only saw one with logo in the store and was not offered on line. I bought this hat for a gift to a Male friend who had recommend this brand and I had bought another goose down limited addition in black, one color, no hood..
i know he will be pleasantly surprised since he wore his all the time during the Winter and to golf..he can use a hat to match!

Fits Great, Very Stylish

Got the dark Grey with the Patagonia logo. Although it's not meant to be a rain hat, I have worn mine on rainy days and it dries out quickly for what it's made of. Not for smaller heads as the depth of the hat is deep, but fits great on my medium sized dome. Brim is very adjustable and it is quite stylish.
Gabe at Moosejaw on 01/31/2012

Fits the bill...

Yes. It's a large hat, but I have a large head. Bought 2 and took one on a 3600 mile road trip. Large enough to swivel around my head and pull down my forehead when my car visor can't quite block the low angle sun. Quality build. Now my go to yard hat for fair weather.

Negative Reviews:

Great if you have the right sized head

I love the designs on Patagonia's caps and often try them on. But I end up never buying one because they are "1 size fits all" which is simply not true. They never fit me properly. I'd love to buy this cap but it's just too big. Please make your caps different sizes Patagonia. Thank you
Tobe at Patagonia on 02/27/2012

Not my favorite

Unfortunately the 'height' of the hat (from my ears to its top) was much to tall for me as it felt like there were a couple of inches between the top of my head and the bottom of the hat. I like a more 'low-profile' look and feel...
trout41 at Patagonia on 09/14/2011

Bad Fit

The materials nice but I didn't like the fit, the top of the cap was like a full inch off the top of my forehead. I have a trucker hat from like 4 years ago that's way better.
Aberg2285 at Patagonia on 03/04/2012

Way too tall

I've had previous years Roger That hats which were great. This newest production fits very different. The cap itself sits like a sky scrapper. I hope next seasons line fits like the old ones.
Ewhite at Patagonia on 03/16/2013

Neutral Reviews:

Sits tall

Ordered this hat online without being able to try it on and I like it but it sits quite tall in the front, taller than most of my other hats. Some break-in might help it out, but I saw someone else wearing it not too long ago and it was tall on them, too. Suggestion: drop the height on the front 1" and you have a winner!

Roger That - Trout Pattern - It's Trucker Hat

Bought Roger That Hat with Trout pattern with patgonia logo pattern background. Love the pattern, but don't think the description made clear that it's a Trucker-style hat. Too bad, great if you're into that style though.
ahunn at Patagonia on 08/20/2011

live simply hat

color = good
logo = good
plastic adjustment = fair (cloth or leather would be nicer)
overly rounded crown = goofy
looks too hip hop but maybe after begining crushed a few dozen times it will break in...
meade2012 at Patagonia on 03/03/2012

nice looking and fitting hat... but the bill is really big, not massive but definately larger than any of my other baseball caps

matt.olson2352129 at Backcountry.com on 06/22/2012

I like the hat, but it's HUGE! Sits really high off of your head.
