The Women's Storm Light Jacket from Patagonia is 100% waterproof/breathable stormproof protection in a comfortable 2-layer fabric with a hanging liner; a lighter-weight version of Patagonia's Storm Jacket.
A new classic inspired by the original Storm jacket. Built for warm-weather use and engineered to be recycled at the end of its days, the new Storm Light keeps you dry and in motion from lowland treks to high mountain passes. Full waterproof/breathable protection combines with a hanging mesh and taffeta liner for a soft, pliable, comfortable feel. Storm flaps cover the pit zips, the three external zippered pockets and the center-front 2-way zipper. Other details include a soft chamois chin guard, a 2-way-adjustable hood that rolls down into the microfleece-lined collar, an internal drop-in pocket and a drawcord hem.
Recyclable through the Common Threads Recycling Program.

From wet alpine trails to soggy trips to the market, the Patagonia Women’s Storm Light Jacket beats back the moisture thanks to its waterproof breathable H2No barrier. This casually styled shell features a hanging mesh liner that eliminates that wet-plastic-bag feeling of some rain jackets and a stowable, adjustable hood to keep your head dry. The microfleece-lined collar enhances the comfortable feel, and plenty of pockets store all your daily essentials. When the jacket finally expires after years of use, it’s fully recyclable through Patagonia’s Common Threads program.

Better than the RainShadow
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I hadn't intended to even buy a rain jacket the day I spotted the Storm Light, much less spend $200 on one. However, I really liked the color and fit. It fits sooo much better than the RainShadow. I've tried that one on a couple of times and it just doesn't work for me. Wrong cut. The storm light has just about everthing you would want in a rain jacket. Four things worth noting: (1) The sizing sees off. I usually wear medium, sometimes small in Pat. I got this in small and still have plenty of room for layering. (2) The previous reviewer was correct in that the velcro does catch the linner when laying/hanging somewhere, but it's not too big a deal for me. (3) The pit zip storm flaps are velcro-ed mid-way down to keep the flap down when the pit's closed, however when the pit is unzipped the velcro patches sometimes catch on their mate causing less of an air opening. I haven't decided if I like this or not. (4) I wish the dry climb collar linning was the same color as the shell - would blend in better when open. Overall I like this jacket. | |

good jacket, poor design

| This is a great jacket, but when not being worn, the velcro closures stick to and pull the mesh liner. Other than that, it's a good one. | |
