Patagonia Traverse Jacket Reviews:

Just the right weight

I've finally found the perfect three-season soft shell — with a little layering ingenuity, I might even make it out on some winter days wearing my new Traverse jacket, but for now, I won't be greedy, since it's clear this is going to be my go-to jacket for most of the spring and should find plenty of use over the next few months. I'll admit I'm addicted to Patagonia — insane quality and incredible customer service — and the Traverse jacket reminds me a lot of my trusted old (still-going-strong) Ready Mix Hoodie in that it has an ideal weight. Wind resistant enough, highly breathable, nice and stretchy for all activities, and, above all, comfortable! I can't imagine a better choice for cycling, running, warmer weather hiking, or just running around town. I sized up because it's slim fit and the sleeves are a little long, but I kind of like that considering I want to wear it while active. It does have an athletic fit but is not restrictive and will allow some light layering underneath. I also anticipate it will be a good mid layering piece once the weather turns cooler. I have the bandana blue and it's an awesome color. Buy one and it will be the first thing you reach for in the closet most mornings from early spring through late fall — maybe longer.

I purchased this to be a lighter softshell, an alternative to my fleece backed softshell that I have love but is for colder weather. It has worked well in just the several uses it has seen, including casual (temperatures of 50ish) and biking (temperatures from 35-45F). I am 5'10" and about 190 pounds, the large fits nicely, it seems to run a little long (good as I am long in the torso). Looking forward to more use, and I consider it a good value.

Of all the fabrics I’ve worked to help develop over the last 12 years, one of the most impressive is found in the Traverse-jacket. This is a trim-fitting, wind-shedding, rain and snow repellent jacket that is great for rock climbing, warmer alpine climbs, running, or trekking on cool, humid, or windy days. I recently recommended the Traverse Jacket to a friend who was looking for a piece to wear rowing on chilly mornings and he loves it.

This is my 2nd time purchasing this jacket after I lost the first one. I use it primarily for snowshoeing, for the up when alpine ski touring and for trail running. It's very light and very breathable. I typically only wear this and a base layer for these activities it works great. Also, the material is stretchy and comfortable.

Great jackets, needs armpit vents

Love this jacket for running or wearing it around town. My one wish is that it had pit vents for running on warmer/humid days, as it's not the most breathable. In any case, it's still a great piece!

This jacket was a bit thinner than i was expecting but still a good jacket for me. I have used it in the rain and when I need just a bit more covering. Very happy with this purchase.

Bought this in black and loved it. Left it in Hawaii on recent trip and now buying a new one in blue this time. I'm 6 2 and 180lbs and the large fits perfect.

Traverse Jacket

Ideal balance between light weight minimalist construction and protection from the elements. I love the fit. I'm tall and the body and arms are just right.

I bought this jacket for runs on the beach with the wind. It has been an excellent purchase and repells moderate rain as well.
