I really like these shorts
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I ordered these in a size 6 because everyone was saying that they ran small. Unfortunately the 6 was too big. They fit just a little big around the waist, (I wear a 27 in jeans) it didn't bother me until I got in the water and it made them float up higher around me and I knew I needed a size smaller. I am waiting on my size 4 to get here to see how they fit. But from the one time that I wore them they seem durable, long lasting and made of good material. I like the fact that they are not super short but not super long in length. Overall I am satisfied with these shorts and am ready for my other ones to get here! | |

| Great Pair Of Shorts! Bought these for an active trip to Belize, where I'd be getting wet a bit and wanted something that would dry quickly. I wasn't disappointed! I wore them canoeing, caving, snorkeling, and hiking. I had brought some other shorts with me for variety, but I pretty much just wore this pair the whole week! I ordered two sizes - based on someone else's advice on this site - and wound up going with the bigger size, as she had predicted. I also found the shorts to cut a bit higher on the leg than the image gave me the impression they would, but perhaps that's just because I have long legs. Despite these two issues, I've been very happy with the fit. | |

perfect boardshorts | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I was looking for boardshorts that were a little longer than most and these were perfect size. They are extremely comfortable and well worth the price. They are great for all outdoor activities. They feel good in the water and dry fast out of it, Some say to order a size up. I did and they ending up a little big. They fit snug and low on the hips. I don't think the sizes run small. I think people just don't realize that they are suppose to be snug. These are by far the best boardshorts I have come across. I am planning on buying more soon. | |

A great deal! | |

| I purchased these in the mineral springs color. After reading some of the reviews I decided to size up because people were saying they were really small. I usually wear a 27' pant, and I sized up to a 10. While they fit really nicely on my waist, they are just a little to big everywhere else. I'm going to go down to an 8 and they should be perfect. The color is great and the length is perfect for someone who wants shorts that are neither too long or too short. Really flattering! | |

These Run Small! | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| This is my first pair of board shorts ever and I already love them, and will probably wear them all summer long. I did need to go one size up from my usual Patagonia size. I think the inseam length is great and the laces allow for minor adjustment around my tummy if I want to go higher and tighter, lower and looser, or just if I ate a lot that day. They ride on my hips, which I also love. | |

| As a water fitness instructor it's a Y standard to wear shorts with our swimsuits. I have found that it's harder to find a lasting pair of shorts than a swimsuit. This one will hold up to the chlorine and heavy usage over a long period of time in the pool. Great fabric and well made product. Not to mention the good fit. | |

Summer Uniform | |

| I live in board shorts all summer long. In the mornings, I throw on a bikini as underwear, toss on the board shorts and a rash guard and am good to go: biking, hiking, grocery shopping, jumping into the swimming hole. They dry quickly and always look good. Patagonia's product is superior to other brands because the seaming does not chafe. | |

I have these shorts in the Plaid Espresso color and I really like them. I have worn them rafting, hiking, etc and have found that they fit just right, even with my ghetto booty. They do have a plastic snap, which I wouldn't trust with any strenuous activity, but other than that, I don't have any complaints. Cute and practical.

| got a big butt and big thighs , but a tiny waist? these board shorts are pretty much exactly what you need them to be -- they're not too long, not too short, not too tight, and the back doesn't gap too badly -- totally simple, straightforward board shorts for the over 40 crowd! | |

Good Product and Service

| I agree with the people who think these shorts run a little small. I went with a size larger and they fit well. I like the length and vibrant color (mineral springs). The material is an excellent quality. I had the free shipping service and my order arrived quickly. All-around, a good purchase. | |

K. Yes, these shorts run small, so order a size up. But skip ordering all together if you plan on doing any real distance swimming. These shorts are cute for beach ball parties and maybe an easy river float, but have way too much drag for a rigorous swim. Also, i don't trust the snap'n'tie closure which seems sorta wimpy and one well placed class 2 rapid could take 'em right off! And as much as i love the idea of swimming au' natural, I rather not have to loose a $50 investment while doing so.

| These board shorts would have been great if the sizing was right. I usually wear a size 6 or 8. I ordered these shorts in a size 10 because I wanted them baggy and I thought they might run small. Well a size 10 is too small! Really tight on the hips uuugh. | |

One size too small | |

| For me they really did run a full size too small - size 12 women's same size as a RipCurl juniors 13! | |

Not my fave Patagonia board shorts...
| Rating: | ![]() |
So, these board shorts work, but... They're definitely not my favorites from Patagonia. First of all, they have no stretch at all, unlike some previous Patagonia favorites that have had slightly stretchy fabric and stay comfy all day. In addition, I have to agree with a lot of the other folks out there who are saying these are sized weird for Patagonia gear. I have a pair from a previous season that I thought were just too small... They're a size 8 (my usual size) and are really tight at the fullest part of my hips, but fit fine in the legs and waist. I took the advice of other folks on here and sized up to a 10, and it's the same story! The hip tightness appears to be a universal design flaw, but I suppose if you have a really flat butt they'll work! :s One improvement from past seasons is a new snap closure instead of one tiny circle of velcro like my old pair has.

Cute but not for the curvy
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I really wanted to like these board shorts. I sized up as suggested and while the butt and leg area were sized right for my curvy body, the waist was far to big. I didn't want to order the next size down as the legs and butt would likely not fit me. Oh well. | |

OK shorts | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| These are nice but a little on the small size. I ordered my normal Patagonia size, and the next size up and kept the larger. The pocket on the side is pretty worthless, and the pocket button impossible to button after the shorts are on! They are nice but I wouldn't order another pair. | |

| I wear a size 10 and the size 10 I ordered are waaayyy small. I missed where they are described as low rise. They show my crack. Not exactly the look I was going for. I'll let you know how easily they are returned. | |
