The wind races in from the Patagonian icecap with such unimaginable velocity that even a simple trail run can seem daunting. But the magic of the place lures you in, so go prepared with the Men’s Wind Shield Jacket. The Wind Shield's stretchy 3-ply, 6-oz 100% polyester panels on the front torso and arms, and collar face have a polyurethane film for full windproof protection; the Deluge DWR (durable water repellent) finish sheds light precipitation. The single-sided fleece on the back, underarm panels and inside the collar is made from 5.7-oz Polartec Power Dry 95% polyester (65% recycled)/5% spandex fabric that's breathable, wicks moisture, and dries quickly. Jacket details: Full zip through the collar with brushed fleece for next-to-skin comfort; full wind flap and zipper garage; zippered chest pockets for storage and venting; a left-bicep pocket with a cord pass-through to hold an MP3 player; and flat seams to reduce chafing. Dropped tail for more coverage and a reflective logo on the left chest for nighttime visibility.

| I got this jacket for cold-weather, aerobic activities. I will end up using it for so much more! The fit is slim for sure. If you go into the mountains to be an athlete, then this jacket will go with you. If you have a tendency to "thicken up" in the winter, you may want to buy a size up. There is nothing lose to catch on packs, rocks, or branches; yet it does not restrict movement either. The distribution of materials is fantastic. The face of the front and the arms is bullet-proof, yet the back allows for ventilation. While this makes perfect sense for sports like mountain biking, it also is pretty sweet for any sport involving a pack. This jacket will be the jacket you reach for whether you're headed for a Saturday spin on the local singletrack, or you've decided to go for a high alpine suffer fest. | |

| Great jacket for cold weather high-exertion activities. I use for cycling and find it quite comfortable when layered with a silkweight capilene base and a microfleece pullover even when the temps are in the low 20's. The panels in the front of the torso and sleeves are quite effective at blocking the wind, and yet the stretch portions nicely allow offloading of unnecessary heat and moisture. Cut is long in the sleeves and the back... perfect for cycling. Nice job on the MP3 pocket in the left arm with a hole through the mesh to snake the headphone wire inside the jacket. However, especially considering that this jacket was designed with cyclists in mind, there are no rear pockets in the low back for additional storage - gloves, powerbars, GU, etc. - a big oversight if one is to use this jacket in variable weather, or on longer rides. | |

Mens Wind Shield Jacket | |

| O.k. so I have been looking for a wind shield light weight jacket and have looked at plenty. I looked at several North Face soft shells but they were always so stiff and short in length and I didn't like that. Well, I received my Patagonia Men's Wind Shield Jacket in size small today and I love it. I am a girl, 5'5 and 130 and the men's small is snug but plenty long in the sleeves and covers the behind. It is thin and there are no pockets but it there had been I would of given it a 5 star! It is a track type jacket. | |

| i bought this jacket for running and riding in southern california. i know it doesn't get cold here, but so far this winter i recorded 34 degrees on my morning commute, which is glove temp. this was a great purchase. it is a little too warm for running most days, but is great for riding on the cold days. i wish there was a small zippered back pocket for small stuff while riding. i sometimes confuse the pocket zippers with the main zipper since they are so close together. the pockets act as vents, but you better not have anything in there that could fall out. | |

Wind shield is ideal | |

| I have used the windshield as a mid-layer for downhill under a shell, and as outer layer for XC in low to mid 20's in southern Michigan. It is a perfect weight, the R1 material in the armpits allows efficient wicking and moisture release without fooling around with pit zips, and the primary material blocks wiind well. I think the material is ideal for heavy aerobic activities in cold weather, I look forward to using it cycling in spring and fall. | |

| I bought this jacket to use on winter trail runs, but now I also use it for anything from going to the gym to running errands on chilly weekends. It is remarkably windproof, and the more breathable material on the underarms and back allow for ample ventilation. I got the blue/black color combo and it looks very sharp. High-quality materials. Like all of the Patagonia products I own, this fully met and exceeded my expectations. | |

The perfect jacket | |

| This was originally designed for nordic skiing, but it turned out so well, that it is perfect for every cold weather high output sport. I have skied 300 miles down the Yukon in it, regularly show up for the sunday bike ride in it, and depend on it for those cold morning runs. I don't have any other jacket that covers so many bases. | |
