Petzl Ecrin Roc Helmet Reviews:

Best helmet I ever used

I used my Ecrin Roc helmet for the first time yesterday in AZ. I was so suprised at how my head did not get hot like helmets I have used before. I am usually sweating constantly from my head but with the Ecrin Roc I was comfortable all day wearing the helmet, even while sitting down and talking in between climbs.

The best in comfort and fully adjustable. It can be worn by anyone and fitted to your head with just the turn of the wheel(s).

If you are going to buy one helmet, this is the one to choose for yourself or a loved one.

Remember if the helmet is not comfortable, you will not wear it. This is the most comfortable helmet I have found. Even my wife says it is comfortable.

Great Helmet

It is the perfect helmet. If you are spending all day in a helmet it really pays to spend the extra money for this helmet. It is so comfortable and easy to adjust. The interior head band can be adjusted with the side wheels so the helmet does not have to be removed to adjust. A very important safety feature that not many helmets have. Most have the annoying plastic slider strap in the back that you have to wrestle with and continue to try and try to refit. Not with the Ecrin Rock. It is totally adjustable while wearing. Great helmet.

Attacked by Marmots

I've purchased my second helmet of this brand. The first one held up to years of use only to succumb to the gnawings of a marmot on top of a 14er. It's very adjustable for any situation and can easily accomodate bare head or a hat. The only thing I don't care for is how the airholes in the helmet seem to make any wind sound stronger (the holes make a whistling noise that can make it hard to hear your partner).

Awesome helmet

This is a great helmet. With a 7 3/4" head I am always leery of "one size fits all" helmets, but this one is easily adjusted for perfect fit. No issues in keeping cool on warm days or fitting a beanie under it on cold days. Extremely durable and offers excellent protection. I had the misfortune of getting caught in an avalanche once and this helmet provided amazing protection against injury.

Multi Use

Not the lightest, but definitely the toughest. Don't trust your melon to a flimsy helmet just to save a few grams. This thing is a beast. No styrofoam here. Hardhat style construction is bomber. I use mine for climbing, snowboarding, paddling, caving, and any other time I might bang my head or have something fall on me. Can your helmet do that?

The classic is still the best

The most durable option for rock and alpine climbing. You will find lighter designs, but they will be much less durable. If you only buy one helmet to do everything, this is the one to buy. You will likely die before it does.

Nicely fitting, with many adjustments.

For ice climbing durability, this is THE helmet to have.

The Helmet

This is the best helmet that I have purchased.
There are others however they seem not to be able to cope with pressures outdoor recreation/rescue can deal to them. As for the hole Plug accessories I just use a piece of duct tape. Holes help heaps with water jumps in canyons.

BEAST

I USED THIS HELMET ON SIMPLE ROCK WALLS TO ZIP LINES TO ICE CLIMBING IT IS VERY VERSITILE AND EASY TO ADJUST TO A PERFECT FIT. IT EVEN HOLDS HEADLAMPS UNDER THE GREY THINGS FOR MIDNIGHT CLIMBS. KEEPS YOUR HEAD DRY TOO.

Great top wear

Strong, safe head gear, that is easily adjustable for the times when addition of balaclava or other must be worn beneath it. Great for attaching head lamp for night climbing or caving. I've heard they're being discontinued, so I bought another.

Love this Helmet

This helmet is so comfortable that I foget that I'm even wearing it. It is adjustable so that I can wear a hat under it in the winter. the clips on the front keep the headlamp in place.
