The very compact and rope-friendly Microcender from Petzl is designed for use in self-belaying on a fixed rope. It does not have a quick attach and release system, but rather is installed on the rope using a removable pin. It completely encloses the rope, greatly reducing the chance of accidental disengagement. The device will slip on the rope if overloaded.
Fit the extra-small Microcender ascender from Petzl into a shirt pocket and take it with you. Weighing only 5.5 ounces and able to accommodate a rope up to 1/2, its strength actually exceeds that of most other ascenders, despite its small size.
The Microcender Ascender by Petzl is a compact and lightweight ascender without handle. The Microcender is intended for self-protection on a fixed rope, pulley systems or hauling heavy loads.
The MICROCENDER Rope clamp/grab a smaller version with the exact same features as the Rescucender.
