"Good combo lamp has great functionality"

Rating:****
Good lamp. The combo is great to save batterylife and provide more function, as you can switch between LEDs for general light and the spotlight. I used while on an extended sailing trip, and used the "spotlight" to see distant lines in the dark, and the LEd to generally see around me and it worked well. The way it fits is somewhat off, it kept sliding down on my head occasionaly, and its a bit buly and heavy compared to some LED only headlamps, but thats because its a combo

"Love it, hands-free clarity!"

Rating:*****
My first hybrid lamp, and I'm impressed so far. 3 LED's are super-bright, perfect for digging through packs and reading at night. I haven't yet used the halogen beam much, or in a full-dark situation. Need to play with the focus a little more before I can really make a judgement on it, but initial reaction was it was bright, but not for any large distance. But when you shine a bright light on a bunch of nothin' and see nothin' that's not to say it's not working.

"GREAT PRODUCT GREAT PRICE. WORTH IT!"

Rating:*****
I Love this thing!!! I use it around the house and camping all the time. Never had problems with it slipping of me head. The 3 LEd's on the bottom are great and make the batteries last forever! The light bulb is great for working in small spaces, car engines, caves. No on/off switches that stick out and hurt you. takes 3 AA batteries. Not that it's water proof, but I did drop in in a lake one and it didn't even phase it.

"Increadibly awesome lightweight product"

Rating:*****
the product has 3 different glow settings the neon light can last for a very long while and the other two not quite as long but at least 3x as bright as the LED. Even with minor rain contact the headlamp still holds through. GReat for backpacking, and climbing for when your either making a long hike or just need a headlamp to climb at dark. This is an awesome headlamp

"A great combination headlamp."

Rating:*****
LED headlamps are great on night hikes and walking around the campsite, but when you are doing something that needs a light with a little more distance, like repelling, the halogen comes in handy. I love the combination and the weight of this headlamp. It's durable and since it turns on by twisting the lamp, there is no worry of it clicking on in your pack and wasting battery.

"Makes dark things seem brighter for some reason."

Rating:****
Nice lamp, the LEDs work wonderful for trekking and slow moving work. I have attached this to my bike helmet and have been using it on trails, the halogen works OK at speeds but is a little dim. However if you use lithium batteries it works fantastic!

"uber cool lamp"

Rating:****
awesome lamp extremely bright and the tri-leds are a nice touch, i like to do alot of night bouldering and this lamp it extra light, so that is def a plus.

"will not buy again"

Rating:****
like the light but i never use the spot since the LED flood light seams just as strong as the spot and will save your batteries.

"Very useful product, I would buy another one!"

Rating:*****
I used this headlamp on my last backing trip. It illuminated everything, and I was able to see quite clearly on a moonless cloeded night.

Negative Reviews:

Sucks

Rating:*
This headlamp was sent to me by Petzl as a free replacement for one of their older Myo series that had broken. I liked the high beam for finding rappels, carins, etc. Within the year, it had broken. Granted, the headlamp was in my pack for a good amount of time and had seen a good amount of use, but I was pretty cautious with it. This October this Myo (whatever current incarnation it is) broke and by December Petzl had kindly given me a (yet another) new one. Right before going out two days ago, I luckily checked and it had mysteriously stopped working. Fresh batteries and a bulb? No dice. I asked to borrow my friend's headlamp, but his LED light had broken and the high beam was also a little defunct. Huh. What kind of headlamp does he have? You guessed it. I'm off to get a BD Icon, or whatever, that also has a high beam; borrowed one ice climbing once and it worked great. I've never really written a review before but this ticked me off. I shoulda saved the money to ship three headlamps back and gotten another brand.

Neutral Reviews:

"OK for general use but too bulky."

Rating:***
The LED light on this headlamp is super bright but I was dissappointed with the reach/brightness of the halogen bulb which I need when skiing out in dark. I used it once hiking walking in darkness for 2 hrs and it did well but it's not good enough when you need that bright, long-reaching beam when skiing/moving at higher speeds. I will continue to look for a better headlamp.
