Pinarello spared no cost in developing this carbon fiber thoroughbred. The Prince forgoes the traditional eight-tube design, and is instead constructed as a single entity. Starting with aerospace grade materials from Toray, a Japanese textile company widely recognized as the carbon fiber industry leader, Pinarello relied on extensive computer modeling to identify and reinforce high-stress zones. By overlapping cross sections of carbon (with a tensile resistance factor of 50 tons/sqcm) and using deliberately angled layers in key areas, Pinarello increased frame strength while reducing weight, so you won’t feel any frame flex when sprinting or climbing aggressively. External ribbing in key compression and tension zones helps to spread and dissipate these forces for increased comfort and frame longevity, while carefully designed chain stays provide lateral stiffness and vertical shock absorption.
