Great Light, Great Value
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I wanted a light that was bright but not too bright. I considered some of the lights with they white broadcasting LED. From a distance they are certainly brighter but I often ride with a group and have guys who follow and that would be a little on the rude side for them. I looked at all the catz eye lights they had in stock and this one made more sense. It has 5 LED’s they are bright and they really light the entire unit up (due to the diffusion in the unit). It was more noticeable than some of the other 3 or 5 LED lights. The light has two modes, flash and continuous. The mount is nothing to crow about. It’s a single screw system with the actual holder coming off one side. It seems a bit sturdier than some of the cheaper mounts I’ve seen but its not a quality rig by any means. It should do the job well enough. Changing the batteries is about average. There are two slots on either side between the back of the unit and the weather seal. You get a coin or screwdriver and pop it open. Runs on 2x AAA’s (included). Snaps back together easy. The back clip is also average when it comes to fastening to bags, clothing and whatnot. It’s a medium length clip, it holds but could come off of something other than a properly sized strap. Better than some, not as good as others. So in summary ProsBrightNo serious flawsGreat price ConsNone really for its price point. Not as compact as other units. ConclusionIf your looking for a good serviceable unit that is bright and doesn’t have any serious flaws for a good price this will do you well. It is an excellent value. | |

Excellent Tail Light | |
| Rating: | ![]() |
| When I first purchased this light I mounted it on an old Blackburn rack that did not have any provision for light mounting, so I had to fabricate a bracket. Now, I'm using this tail light on a Topeak Explorer rack. At first, I mounted it right side up, but this caused the light to hang very low, the release tab almost touching the tire. I then reversed it, mounting the light upside down, with the tab up, which fit the rack bracket better. The only problem with this arrangement is that the tab interferes slightly with the installation of my Topeak MTX rack trunk. While sliding the trunk rail into the rack channel, it contacts the light's tab slightly making a clicking sound as it slides in. The light itself is bright, but not blinding, and battery life is great on blink mode, which is how I use it. I also like the integrated reflector. I think this light is great for rack mounting. I haven't used the seat post mount. | |

Large Safe Light with Versatile Mount
| Rating: | ![]() |
| The light itself has got me some complaints, meaning its very visible to passing drivers. It resembles a larger motorcycle style tail lens. I consider it a very safe tail light. The mount is very sturdy, it mounts nicely to my Topeak Explorer Disk bike rack. Two very sturdy bolts attach the light to the rack. The mount also attaches the Planet Bike Super Flash light as well, very versatile. | |

Has internal reflector
| Rating: | ![]() |
| Sixgun's review is great, I just wanted to add that this is one of the few rear blinky lights that also includes an internal reflector, so if you need to install this in a way that replaces a reflector on your bike, you're not missing out on reflecting back a car's headlights - which is illumination power far greater than any blinky. | |

Very bright! | |

| Very very bright! It definitely does its job of alerting people to my presence on the road and bike path at night. Can't ask for more given the price. | |

May be missing some extra hardware
| Rating: | ![]() |
| I got this bike to go on an older bike with a rack. Unfortunately it is a rack without a [*] at the back so there is no way to attach the light. After some research I found that Planet Bike sells a rack hardware kit just for this problem. Unfortunately I didn't know this and REI does not carry it online. I will have to wait until I can get this hardware to mount the light on the rack.It will work on the seat post but it will not be seen with stuff attached to the rack. The description needs to be modified to reflect that the rack needs to have a back tang to attach this light. | |
