I just came off a three day trip into the back country of the Sierra Navada mountions. It was the first time that I used the Platypus system. For me, it was very convenent not to have to pull a bottle out from my hip belt. I liked this a lot. However, when I am huffing and puffing up the side of a peak, I tend to stop and allow my heart rate and breathing to come back into normal range now and then. When I did this, it was too easy to suck on the platypus while i was sucking air. This did not work well for me. Water and air are not interchangable. Ah, but that is just me. | |

I love the Platypus Hyperflow valve - but switched to a Camelbak Big Bite valve (almost as good) only because it had much more effective cover... | |

I just installed my platypus bite valve and i love it! I always found myself drinking sand with my water. This has corrected that problem! I recommend this to anyone! Installation is a breeze, and the cap snaps on what more could you ask for. It is the simple things that can make you miserable on a trip. | |

This is the best invention ever!! I was dragging my mouthpiece through everything and was getting very reluctant to use it. The cover prevents the mouthpiece from getting covered in dirt so all you get is water! My only complaint is that the cover seems to pop off easily when snagged on something. | |
