A true workhorse of the hydration family, the Platypus Hoser is truly versatile - even your little brother will be able to find a multitude of uses for it. Lightweight and ready to use, it is compatible with a wide range of modular systems, and can convert even your standard backpack into a hydration dream.
You have a backpack and you'd love to stash a water reservoir with a drinking tube in it for quick, hands-free hydration on the trail. Grab the Platypus Hoser Hydration Bladder. Platypus made this reservoir with 100% BPA-free material, and added a SlimeGuard antimicrobial treatment to the inside so you won't end up with unidentified black bacteria camping out in your water bladder. The HyperFlow bite valve hooks you up to fast-flowing water, while the modular design fits into most backpack hydration sleeves.

i like this bladder for saving a bit of weight relative to my camelbak bladder, but i made the mistake of taking this bladder on a climb where we were required to melt/boil snow. because this bladder has a small cap opening, it was very difficult to fill out of the pot of boiled water. i should have either taken my camelbak, or ordered the wide-top opening model platy so i could full right out of the pot. my mistake, not the product's. we ended up using a trail mix package fashioned into a funnel to fill this bladder from the pot. apparently it works great with a step down water filter attachement, which is good when you have a non-frozen water source & filter.

good bladder. i bought it because of its price and weight. also, my roommate in college had one and he really liked his. i am interested to see how the material holds up. i have heard that it does well, though.

I love the versatility of this piece of gear. If you don't have a water supply coming up soon then you can fill it up all the way. If you're crossing streams every 30 minutes then just fill it up to whatever level you like and let it take up less room in your pack. Very lightweight as well. I just wish it had a bigger opening to fill it up but that's a minor setback.

This is a great piece of equipment! It weighs about half a pound less that the CamelBak equivalent and it does not flavor the water. When empty, it rolls up and stows away small. I use mine with the MSR Sweetwater filter and the step-down cap fits it perfectly.

Works fabulous on the trail. Took a 3 day trip and this saved me. Think that the 2 Liter is a perfect size. Will tell others.

I have many platys, still uning one that is 10 years old, and have never had a problem. This one sprung leaks the first time i filled it. The seal arround the edges did not bond correctly during maufaturing. The material is differnt then the others, softer and more flexible which would be nice if it didn't leak. I am going to go through platypus directly for an exchange so i can let them know how disapointed i am in their quality controll. I will post how well they respond.
