Now more durable and flexible than ever, the taste-free Platypus plusBottle™ water bottle with push/pull cap is an excellent option for bringing water on your backcountry adventures.

Empty hard plastic bottles have an annoying habit of consuming precious pack storage space when you don't need them. That's why Platypus® designed bottles like this one-liter Platypus 1 with a plastic laminate that flattens and rolls up when you don't need it. A gusseted base allows for free standing convenience in camp and at rest stops. The Push-Pull cap on this one is great for hauling liquid refreshments.

Better than the previous version...but

| I've been using the bottle for a few months now, but I am now thinking about purchasing a different bottle made with harder material (see cons #5). Pros: 1. Very lightweight 2. Fits 1-liter of water, perfect amount for me 3. Bottle material is translucent so I'm able to tell how much water I have left 4. Collapsible (without full amount of water) 5. The finger loop is VERY convenient 6. The flexible material is thicker and more scratch resistant than the previous version Cons: 1. Difficult to clean, opening too small 2. Too flimsy to hold 3. Push/pull cap is more of an annoyance for me now, I actually unscrew the whole cap to drink instead 4. Push/pull cap is not secure (in comparison to the closure cap), it came loose once and water spilled all over my bag 5. My brother stuffed my bottle into my car drink holder once a couple months ago. Since the bottle is too wide for the holder, it doesn't fit perfectly. Now, one end of the bottom of my bottle doesn't want to open up all the way out. My bottle can't stand on its own most of the time anymore, it tips over! I tried freezing the bottle to stiffen the end; flatted the end underneath something heavy; nothing works! | |

Great Light weight bottle

| I need to shave weight from my gear for an upcoming expedition and decided to try one of these bottles. I found the bottle extremely durable, very easy to use so I can drink while moving (I use a nonlocking carabiner attached to the bottle loop and attach both to my packs sholder strap). The bottle has not leaked. For one test I placed it in my pack under about 30 pounds of weight and it handled the weight perfectly. The only negative is the ability to clean bottle with ease. Because of its very small opening one must manually use hot water and soap and just make sure all of the soap is rinsed out. | |

Better than expected! | |

| This is a bit of money, but worth every cent. The only draw back is that it has a plastic smell. When you drink, it pushes the air into your mouth first, and you can smell the plastic. It does not affect the taste of the water though, and withstands my heavy beatings of my day to day use. This new model is an improvement from their last. It comes stander with a sports cap, and stands on its end better. Also is shapped to fit your hand easy. | |

Versatile | |

| This is an extremely well made, versatile, and functional bottle. It weighs less than regular hard shell bottles, and it slips into a packed bag easily due to its soft, pliable plastic. Its stands up when filled with liquids, and consiquently gets easier to pack still as you drink from it. Highly recommended! I take mine to the beach, and on my travels to S.E. Asia. | |

This is the perfect travel bottle.

| This sturdy bottle is exactly what I want when traveling. The lid doesn't drip/leak. And best of all the bottle flattens to almost nothing as it is emptied. So I'm not left with a standard bottle, empty, taking up valuable carry-on or luggage space. | |

| I carry my Platypus everywhere! It refreshes with a smooth flow, and no struggle for a drink. Glad I bought it, and plan to order a couple more just to have at different locations (office, car, etc.). | |
