The Powertec® smith machine provides all of the classic strength training exercises such as pressing, squats and rows. The high-tensile-strength Olympic bar is driven by a roller system that incorporates 8 bearing drive nylon-reinforced wheels for the ultimate in stability and smoothness. A set of adjustable bar catches allow the trainer to also use a barbell. Adjustable spring-loaded safety catches provide safety at all times.

Faulty Part
However, The right side upper sleeve that attaches to the guide rod, that the smith olympic bar actually attaches to, which makes it slide up and down was faulty. The left side was fine but the right hand side was manufactured wrong and it did not allow the rollers to move. I could not even insert the guide rod into the sleeve to assemble it. Powertec was going to have to order one from CHINA and who knows how long that would have taken. The parts guy at Powertec was able to find one in his warehouse and sent it to me. Other than that, this machine is very nice. It is well made and assebly is rather straight forward. i am really impressed with how sturdy it is. For the money, you just cant find a better product.
Nothing But Frustration... So Far
Ordering this product has been nothing but a pain. If you want the utility bench to go with this machine, it is yet another online only purchase. 3 weeks after the purchase, I still do not have everything required to start working out with it.The construction of the entire machine is solid to my surprise, and I am looking forward to wearing this machine out.. as soon as I get undamaged parts to put it all together. The roller system that I received had nylon rollers/bearings that are frozen, so it will not slide onto the support system and onto the olympic bar. So, the machine is in pieces until these parts are replaced. Otherwise, there are true no flimsy parts and the welds are solid.
Great machine
I am an athlete that wanted to build muscle and get stronger without having to pay alot of money for a gym membership. This machine was perfect, it has all the workouts you can do at a gym, without paying all that money or having to drive back an forth.

With a good FID bench you can do anything with this machine. I am really impressed.
