ProForm ZE3 Elliptical

My wife and I decided to get serious about weight loss and bought this to replace one we wore out. This elliptical was fairly easy to setup. We put to rigourous use daily, my wife used the training programs and I would do about an hour at the strongest resistance. To our disappointment, one of the arms holding up the pedal sheared and split apart. Fortunately we had the extended warranty, but to our bigger disappointment, the replaced parts held up even less time and failed about two months later. From the reviews I read, this is only good for light use and not regular use, which is exactly what our experience has been.

Make sure you purchase extended warranty when buying this product. When I got it home and assembled, console had short in it so mp3 player could not be used. Company did replace the console. After 4 months of using equipment 4-5 times a week, the bracket on the upper body arm snapped. I thought no problem factory has 5 year frame warranty. WRONG!! warranty is only for 1 small part. Failure happened due to poor manufacturing controls due to crack happening right beside a weld. And no body weight has no issue I am 170lbs.

we bought this from the local dick's store.Once it arrived and was assembled, we were told that the 'ac adapter' needs to be purchased separately. How are we supposed to use the equipment without the adapter?the store people wouldnt help.Now we are waiting for a call back from the proform store.atleast it should be advertised that it DOESNT come with an adapter.

This product is not sturdy enough for consumer use. It is extremely wobbly and cheaply made. It continually squeaks from multiple hinge areas. A foot pedal bracket sheared on me after about 7 months use. You get what you pay for with this product; Dick's should really pull them from the shelves.

Not a bad piece of equipment. A few things could have been done better. The display could be a little higher or tilted up more. Taller people have a hard time reading the display.

The power adapter should come with the equipment. Yes it works on batteries but if you want a power adapter you have to order it from the manufacturer.

The speakers that are built in, really don't need to be there. My headphones are louder and clearer than the speakers mounted there.

Workouts are good. I like the number of different workouts it has.

Overall not a bad piece of gear for the price.

Oh, one last thing, This is not really the product's issue mainly Dick's

I went to purchase this machine in the store, they were sold out, (after being open only 5 days at this new location, someone didn't stock the store properly) They wouldn't sell me the display model. The store that is an hours drive away had three machines. So what did Dick's do? instead of having one brought down from the other store, they ordered one from the website, as if I was ordering it from online. They told me 3-5 days for shipping, It took 15 days for it to get here from California. Not really happy with Dick's Customer service on this one.

I actually didn't purchase this elliptical. I purchased one similar to this one called the ZE5. It is better quality and costs the same! I bought in the store because they don't have it online. I tried this one and didn't like it at all. It is not very sturdy, and wiggles a lot. Definitely not for long term use. If you could get the ZE5, get that instead.
