cheap paddle that works well

I got this one on sale. paid half the list price, [$]. Ive used the fiberglass version with the same blades and I like the groove in the center, it catches water on the stroke and adds leverage, generating more pull on each one. at this price I dont worry about breaking it on a rock or losing it, but it works well enough that it doesnt feel like a compromise. Ive already recommended it to another paddler. constuction could be better, but its good for what I paid.

Know paddle length needed

This is a very good paddle for the price. However, you need to know what length you need before going to the store because the sales person that helped me had no idea. Here's how: rest the center of the paddle horizontally on your head. Hold it with both hands, elbows bent to 45 degrees. If you are holding the correst length paddle, your hands will be on the shaft 4 to 5 inches from the start of the paddles.

Adjustable paddle

I like the flexibility to adjust paddle orientation depending on typw of waters I'm kayaking. I use this for fishing and the flexibility is great.

Quality product at a good price

Makes the kayak adventure more fun than the low end paddle that came with the "set" I bought witht the Kayak.

Negative Reviews:

Don't buy the paddle!

I just bought 3 kayaks and 3 chute paddles. 2 paddles and chute kayaks were for 8 year old girls. paddles that keep breaking!!

Neutral Reviews:

Wanna get wet, get these

Got a pair of these when I bought two kayaks and PDFs. It's all they had in yellow (thinking yellow blades waving in the air might help provide visibility to the [*] speed boats). I thought the deep-cupped drip rings would do a good job of keeping excess water from dripping into the cockpit - WRONG. It's actually worse. There's also a deep groove down the centerline of the blades (probably for extra stiffness), but I think that also tends to channel water straight down the shaft, making the drip even worse. So, if you want a nice paddle and a soaking, try these. If you want a paddle with a better design and a working drip ring, get something else.

Good Enough

Purchased this paddle because of its likeness to the Asus paddle that I have. It performs as well and is easy to take apart. I would recommend this paddle to any casual kyaker. I only do rivers and lakes, so I have no knowledge of real white water.

money's worth

Used on flat water and some chop on lakes.
Not terribly heavy for an aluminum shaft.
Paddles surprisingly well for the price.
About right for the price. (I mean, it isn't a
carbon paddle, so it wouldn't be fair to expect
it to act like one.)
Rango at Dick's Sporting Goods on 08/08/2011

decent paddle, but needs improvement

use un flat to choppy water, weight is ok, feathering is good, hand grips loosen after a while, aluminum connector in middle is only glued in and comes undone. modified it by screwing connedtor in place. replaced left hand grip w/ industrial heatshrink tubung.

Good buy for the price

We kayak in both streams, lakes and ocean. Dollar for dollar this paddle performs as well or better than expected. Its as good as most aluminum shafted paddle, but at a lot better price.
