ABOUT RAB

In 1981, British mountaineer Robert “Rab” Carrington started making down jackets and sleeping bags in Sheffield, England. Inspired by the new style of lightweight alpine climbing which he helped pioneer, Rab made it his mission to make equipment that would withstand  “the most extreme conditions in the world.”

Rab’s product line has expanded dramatically since then, but Rab’s commitment to functionality, durability, and value remains as strong as ever. At GearX.com, we are continually impressed by Rab’s superb knowledge of technical fabrics (they were the originators of Pertex) and attention to small yet crucial details like high-quality zippers. No matter which Rab product you choose, you can be sure that it will be a faithful companion in the mountains.

Backcountry Edge

Insulated with synthetic Primloft One, the Rab Men’s Xenon Jacket provides ultra-lightweight warmth for cold weather backpacking, alpine climbing and travel. The insulation combines with premium Pertex Quantum GL face fabrics to create an extremely compressible jacket that packs cozy warmth on cold mountain days. The fitted, insulated hood with roll-down closure offers extra protection from the wind and can be worn under a hood or helmet.

Don't feel bad if you can't part with it―it's packable.
It's simple and sleek, and yet you may find that with its silky softness and lightweight warmth you don't want to go anywhere without the Rab Xenon Insulated Jacket. But with water-and wind-resistance and breathability, it makes sense. Good thing it also stuffs nicely into its pocket.

Rab Xenon Jacket Review:

Reviews:

Great jacket.

I bought this jacket after buying a primaloft vest and being very impressed with the warmth to weight ratio. So far, this jacket is awesome. It's super-light, really warm, and is not overloaded with features. I bought a medium, which is a bit short in the torso for me at 6'0" and 145 lbs., but overall the fit is great and the sleeves are a good length. The finish of the jacket is very nice, the construction seems sound, and I expect to have the jacket around for a while. I would definitely recommend this jacket to people looking for a lightweight, 3+ season outer layer, or a winter midlayer.
