Full Throttle Function and Fit. High-tech protection with sleek racer styling, the men's R.E.D. Frequency Helmet is ultra lightweight and loaded with comfort features for those who crave high speed and an uncompromised fit. Built around an in-molded polycarbonate shell, the R.E.D. Frequency ski and snowboard helmet is lighter than injection molded models, contributing to the feather-light feel that makes you nearly forget that the helmet is on. Also contributing to the unencumbered feeling is a host of adjustable comfort features to give you the exact fit you desire. A Softfit dual component liner conforms to the shape of your head so you don't feel annoying pressure points as you bounce through the bumps. To get a snug fit, the MC2, Mechanical Fit and Comfort System, adjusts the liner's circumference to match your head precisely, and a Zip Clip ratcheting chin buckle offers fine-tuning so that the strap is not too loose, nor too tight. Quick Clip ear pads on the R.E.D. Frequency Helmet provide ear muff-like protection from stinging wind chill and easily remove for comfort in mild conditions or to swap out for the speaker equipped Audex Audio Ear Pad Accessory. And not to be forgotten, Burton's R.E.D. Frequency Helmet includes Climacontrol venting, a series of screened vents across the top of the helmet that close partially or all the way, depending on the amount of air intake that makes you the most comfortable.
When you ride everyday, you need a helmet that can keep up. The RED Frequency Helmet gives you protection and a low-profile design. The incredible MC2 mechanical comfort system lets you adjust the liner's circumference to fit around your dome, and the Zip Clip ratcheting chin buckle cinches in a flash. The Frequency Helmet's SoftFIT liner conforms to your head for a one-of-a-kind fit, while the removable Goggle Gasket helps you eliminate the dreaded gaper gap. If you get too warm or cold, open or close the top vents with a touch of the Frequency Helmet's smooth-action lever. - Fall 2008.

| I had a 2004 RED Frequency helmet previously which I liked so I purchased the 2009 model Frequency. RED has made a lot of improvements as their new helmet is noticeably lighter and lower profile compared to the 2004 model, so much so I forget I'm wearing a helmet sometimes. I followed the Burton helmet size guide and the small fits me perfectly. What sets the Frequency apart from the other RED models is the ability to custom fit the helmet with the adjustable inner band and the adjustable vent on the top of the helmet. My only complaints are the switch at the top of the helmet for the vents feel like cheap plastic which could break off and that the Quick Clip II earpad comes loose from the helmet rather easily which is annoying. That never happened to my 2004 model. I'd still recommend this helmet though, especially at its current price with Altrec. | |

I love this helmet. I just couldn't get other helmets on the market to quite fit my head correctly and adding goggles just compounded the problem. Giro's just didn't fit right with any goggle combo I tried. The Frequency fit perfectly and with Oakley Crowbar's it's a sick combo. I don't think you'll be unhappy with this helmet if you try it. | |

| It fell a little below my expectations. I order a medium and I had to adjust the inner band to the tightest link to get a snug fit. I'm guessing the small would have been a better size even though the measurements dictated a medium/large? Also, the ear pads do not offer a warm fit around my ears...it was definitely was a bit cool at the start of my runs. In addition if you want the audio ear pad accessory, the accessory is a bit plain looking and takes away some of the overall look of the helmet. | |
