| Very good motorcycle boot at a very good price - I own nothing but boots and these are the ones I wear most of the time. When I got them they were well-packaged and arrived in perfect condition, and the quality of the boots was obvious. They required only a day or so to break-in, though they were comfortable out of the box. They're a bit heavy to walk far but they're good at keeping the foot evenly supported. The only negative about these boots-and it's a minor one in my view- is that they are made in China; I had believed that Red Wing made all its boots in the USA. The reason I'd get these boots from Zappos versus anywhere else is that they seem to have the only ones with the metal grommets on the buckle strap holes, which helps them last longer. I'd buy them again from Zappos if I needed another pair. | |

| Red Wing Steel Toe saved arthritic joint under foot shifter - I had an acute attack of arthritis in the joint between the metatarsal bone and the big toe on my left foot. The steel toe on the Red Wing 988 was just the ticket to relief on my Suzuki DL-1000 V-Strom. It is a bit awkward on my Honda ST1100, but it works there too. I went with Red Wing because they have actual widths available. I need the EE width. Try to find that with other motorcycle boot suppliers. I actually ordered a pair of 988's, and pairs of 969's and 977's to see which pair I would like the best. I was not optimistic that the steel toe would help, or that it would even be comfortable enough to wear. I intended to keep one pair of the three, but I liked them all so well, that I kept them all. | |

| Red Wings - Is there anything they CAN'T do? I'm not a hard-working-in-the-muck type, rather an ESL professor by trade, but I AM an ex-punk-rocker type with a thing for boots. In the past eight years I've owned three pairs of RedWing boots. I've worn them every day, usually in a motorcycling-to-work capacity, and they're fricking bulletproof. I've not NEEDED a new pair of boots, but I've bought two newer pairs just because. These might be my favorite. Finding a slip-on boot is extremely tough for me because I have big-honking-arches and big-honking-calves. The adjustability of these - unlike most engineer-looking boots where the straps are completely superfluous - fit me very, very well. After only two weeks I think I can tell that they will be as durable as my other boots. Which is saying a lot. RED WING FTW!one!! | |

| The longest lasting boot I have ever owned!!! I work a very rugged job! I burn through a pair of boots every three to four months, but since I found this specific pair - they have lasted me 3 years and 9 months. They now need to be replaced. If you break the price down over that amount of time, it equates to about $3.55 per month at the current asking price of $160.00. THAT IS THE BEST DEAL UNDER THE SUN!!!! Given when I purchased the boot they were $99.00 that makes the monthly price I paid $2.20 per month for the life of the boot. You must try them - they take 5 to 7 days to break in, but once they do it's like putting on your favorite pair of socks. ENJOY!! | |

| Great Boots! I ordered these boots at 12:00 CST on Saturday; they were at my door Monday! The box was in the sun, and when I slid them on, they felt like they were made for my feet. They are extremely comfortable; I haven't even had to buy extra insoles. After a full day of riding, the top of my foot is no longer sore from shifting. It's true what they say about these, "They're the last boots you'll ever buy." I just wish they were still made in the USA...But worth every penny. | |

| Notch above your basic engineer boot - This is a fancy boot (ain't into fancy), but the narrow sizes were not available in U.S. made Red Wings and are in the China made. Black dye from the shaft will color your socks, but washes out. Don't much care for the nickel eyelets, but pants cover most of the fancy crap. Do like the wider foot strap (just over 1¼"). Fit and comfort are excellent. Only boot better (in my size), is Wesco's and these are about a third the cost. | |

| Very comfortable - Bought these boots because I needed a better boot than my previous Harley boots. All I wear is boots, my calves and back would hurt daily wearing them. I looked online and saw these awesome looking Red Wing boots and they screamed out biker boot. I bought some and now I will never ever buy another brand again. I can stand for hours in these boots and not to mention how cool they look when Im riding. Goodbye Harleys and hello Red Wings. | |

| First Zappos buy. Excellent service from the Zappos crew! I lived next door to a shoe store for years. My mom worked there for 20 yrs. From this I was familiar with Red Wing shoes. The 988 M/C boot is exactly as presented. I'm not a big shopper (online or otherwise) but I can't think of any way that your site could be any more informative or easy to use. For what it's worth I am completely satisfied and will continue to use Zappos.com | |

| Second Thoughts. After receiving these boots I wrote a review that was not to favorable. Well I went ahead and forced myself to wear these boots, because they are so nice looking and actually are crafted pretty well, and gradually they started to feel more comfortable with each wear. Now I wouldnt trade them for any others. Maybe I was just too quick to judge. | |

| These boots are the best purchase I have ever made. I bought them for riding my motorcycle and it was like they were broken in from the first day. I don't think I'll ever buy anything other than Red Wings. And Zappos is the best place to buy anything. Their customer service is fantastic. | |

| I wear nothing but boots, and use to believe that none were as well constructed and comfortable as Red Wings. This is my third pair, the previous pair I purchased in 1994, and they were great from the first time I wore them. But man what a change since China began making them. These boots will eat your feet up. The left one is extremely tight and the right could be a half size smaller. And dont even think about wearing white socks, as apparently the inside was dyed and comes off on your socks. Im stuck with them as I wore them out for a few hours and are to worn to return. For me these boots suck, but as always Zappos delivers when they say they will and the people there are always very helpful and polite. Ill always buy from Zappos, but never again will I buy Red Wings. | |
