Worth the [...]

Rating:****
The most notable feature of this jacket for me is the sleeve length. I am 6'2", 175lbs and have atypically long arms. I would describe my ideal size as "medium long". It is difficult for me to find jackets that fit properly, but this one does very well. I bought the black colored medium at a discounted price, and it fits comfortably close in the chest and the sleeves are long enough for my arms. There's no velcro or other means to adjust the cuff. But, pulling the cuff toward the elbow will result in the cuff fitting snuggly around the mid-forearm (for those thinking about fly-casting). Beware of the tacky embroidery on the shoulder, though. I just colored over the embroidery with a black permanent marker. The chest pocket flap also protrudes a bit, the jacket material is thinner than I anticipated, but still warm. Bottom line, I think it is going to be a good jacket for the discounted price.

Solid jacket

Rating:****
I bought this on a STP sale and I really like it. Here's the negatives: the chest pocket isn't the most functional and it kind of sticks out a little, and also, I usually wear size large but the jacket runs a little big and I now wish that I ordered a medium. That being said, I love this jacket. It's no frills, not a lot of pockets, but it is very comfortable and it looks great. Some of the reviews talked about sleeve length being an issue. After studying my jacket on me, I guess the sleeves are SLIGHTLY longer than most, but I happen to like the length a lot.

Redington Skeena Rvr Jacket

Rating:*****
Great lighter weight rain jacket for those days when it's really not too cold and rain is a possibility. I wear this jacket more than the $400.00 high end jacket that my wife gave me for my birthday last year. No hood but I still really like this jacket for travel and fishing. I wear it tucked into my waders. Plenty of pockets and easy access.

So far, very nice

Rating:****
This jacket seems be very nice, the water resistance so far has been good, I have only tested it in a wet snowfall at this time, but I t kept me dry and warm. It has also been good with its wind resistance. I have been wearing it in temps down to the high 20's low 30's and have felt comfortable.

Nice product, Great Value

Rating:****
I just got it and so far it is fine. Good fit and good snow and wind protection. It doesn't have a lot of insulation so it would need help in really cold weather. But that is expected in a softshell. I'm getting another one for my dad.

Great Jacket for the Money

Rating:****
I bought this jacket two years ago when I was heavier. Just recently bought another one in a size smaller. Guess that must mean I like it. Jacket runs just a little larger to size than other brands. Like a medium is 39-41 rather than 38-40.

Nice Jacket

Rating:*****
This is a nice jacket, but be warned it is not a light jacket, this is pretty heavy jacket and works great in colder weather conditions. This jacket feels heavy and keeps the wind and water out.

Nice coat

Rating:****
Have not worn the jacket much yet but it seems prefect for cooler outdoor activities. The logos on the sleeves are a little much but does not stop you from wearing the coat.

Excellent all purpose jacket

Rating:****
Excellent all purpose jacket that functions well in the fall in cool and wet weather and to my suprise, is warm enough to use in cold weather.

Superior Product

Rating:*****
Great product for a great price. Very warm on the water on those cold days. I wish there was at least one more pocket for equiptment.

Good product but overpriced for features

Rating:***
I bought this for fly-fishing on days when it was windy and/or cold (<40 deg). A recent fishing trip in NE Washington provided both weather conditions. The jacket did not keep me as warm as I had anticipated - reasonably so but not extraordinarily so. The exterior shell is rather stiff - not very pliant; it may get less stiff over time however. The pictures on this site do not show what I think is is some rather tacky logo labelling on each sleeve. On one sleeve is a small logo of a fly (which is OK I guess) but the other logo says something like "Thermal barrier - Windproof - Stretch" in gaudy yellow and red fibers - NOT what I had in mind. I'd describe this jacket as substantially wind-resistant - but not totally windproof. It's a perfectly decent lined shell that has a very comfortable inner fleece lining. Not bad but maybe not the nicest shell you'll ever own (and it ought to be based on the original manufacturer asking price).[...]I guess my satisfaction level has been somewhat increased by virtue of the low price I paid for it. Even so, I'd find it hard to recommend this to a friend. It's not that it's a bad jacket - it's just not as wonderful as its original price tag would tend to suggest.

Redington Skeena River Jacket

Rating:***
I didn't keep this jacket. I normally wear a large size shirt (I'm 5'9" 165lbs) but I ordered a Medium and it was still too big. Also the cuffs had virtually no elastic and no hook & loop closures so the sleeves just hung down over my hands. Not good for a jacket from a fishing company. You get what you pay for I guess.

Nice jacket but runs large

Rating:***
I got this to wear biking and running in cooler spring/fall weather, but the sleeves are too long and the body too roomy. I normally wear a medium, but would get a small if they had one. Nice jacket for casual wear, but not active things.
tottales at Sierra Trading Post on 04/22/2009

good jacket but sleeves are long.

Rating:***
It is a good jacket. I use it to run and for fishing. The sleeves are definitely too long. I would also lose all of the embroidery on the sleeves.

Not what I expected

Rating:***
I ended up returning it because it was lighter than expected. The pocket is a little goofy too
