I used it on a dog bite! | |

| I was bitten by a large dog on the trail and had to use this kit to clean my leg and stop the bleeding. I used the antibacterial wipes to initially clean the area and assess the damage. I used the field manual to learn what to do for bite puncture wounds(it suggested streaming water onto the wound to clean it, which I did by squeezing my camelbak like bagpipes to make the water shoot out the tube). I used the triple antibiotic ointment and gauze pads to cover the wound and my own ace bandage to wrap it up. The bottom line is that if I didn't have this kit, my leg would have been bleeding while I was half an hour from home. It worked! | |

Contains the essentials for day hiking

| This is a great little kit to toss in your pack. It includes the basics of what you'll need on the trail. You can easily replace used pieces or add or remove gear as needed. I'd recommend keeping the kit in a plastic bag since the kit isn't waterproof. If it gets wet, the bandaid wrappers get kinda tattered and the book in the back gets water damaged which is difficult or impossible to fix. Learned that one the hard way... Otherwise it's a great kit to have, not only for yourself, but for others, especially when they don't bring a first aid kit. | |

Big value, small kit | |

| Included 1st aid guide, a feature rarley found in this price range. Enough extra room to fit survival items or user specific medicine in it. Great value. I priced the contents seperatley, roughly twice as much. I also added a laminated card with personal info, medical history ect. just in case. | |

| I feel like I really got my money's worth. I was extremely pleased with the strength and durability of the case. It has all the basics and plenty of room for me to add more. I have bought several and always keep one handy. | |

| I wouldn't use this for a backpacking trip, but it is great for day trips! I have a few that I keep in the car, my camelbak, the diaper bag, etc. It is great for basic needs. | |

| A good size and design. Not for extended trips, but great for a one or two person kit. | |

Too small and not waterproof

| I brought this on a 4 day hike because it was about the only thing that would still fit in my pack. In hindsight, I should have made some extra room for a better first aid kit. This will probably be adequate for a day trip or maybe a weekend solo hike, but for 4 day hike you need something more comprehensive. The center organizer works well but the slots are too narrow to hold more than one or two of each item. The carry pouch is also too thin to add additional items. I was able to squeeze a small sam splint at the bottom but not anything else. It rained during our trip and all the bandages inside got wet. | |
