| I bought this to replace a heavy, bulky synthetic that was rated to -10 degrees F. Size and weight are fantastic. It sure makes those 15+ mile legs a bit easier where taking off a couple of pounds gives you that much more comfort. The extra space allows for a bit more room in the pack. I'm not too sure about the -20 rating. Used it on a number of occasions where it went sub zero at night. Not close to -20, but below zero. I found I still had to wear a layer of polypro to stay nice and warm on those nights. For a bag rated for -20, you should be able to go commando. Not in this bag. Like all things down, heavy moisture is the bane of this bag. I suppose that's the advantage of synthetic. The outer layer of the bag did a fairly good job at keeping the majority of the moisture out, but some still gets in at times. Not a good choice for sub zero if you're a bivvy bag kind of person. In tents though, this thing is fan-freaking-tastic. Never had any issues that weren't easily remedied in a four-season tent. Be sure to leave the bag hanging for storage instead of using the oversized storage bag they give you. Keeping it in the case will cause the down to clump up, reducing it's effectiveness. There's a loop on the bottom of the bag for this. If it does clump up, a trip through the dryer will fix it. Three stars because it's still really good. Five stars go to the bags I've pooped bricks over. This wasn't one of them, though it's still really great for what it offers. | |

| I bought this bag for a 3 month expedition in Patagonia. After much research I decided this bag was the one and I do not regret my decision. This bag was roomy, warm, and light. I was comfortably warm at 0 degrees and paired with silk liner warm well below that. I would not recommend this bag for temperatures above freezing because it is so well insulated you get really hot. However, having said that, the two zipper design allows great regulation of warmth. I love this bag. Oh, not recommended for wet weather, but that goes for any down bag. | |

| I used this bag on a 3 night Presidential Traverse March 4-7 of 2008 with temps dipping below 0 and was utterly warm. Roomy enough to stash my gloves, shell jacket, soft shell jacket, and myself in a down parka and still zip up nice and cozy. Only complaint, my feet got a little cold .... otherwise its a great bag. | |

| I've used this bag in a multitude of scenarios and temperatures. It works best when it's colder, but with the multi-zipper system, you have plenty of ventilation flexability. Great packer, and partnered with a good pad, this bag works well in any cold-weather backpacking environment. Note: be careful around extreme wet conditions. | |

| Great bag! Its so warm! I was suffering from cold at nights with my Western Mountaineering bag. It looked great on paper, being light and rated at the very low temperature. But it turned out to be over rated. The shell tour easily and it wasn't very water repellent. Hard to imagine considering the huge price Western Mountaineering charges. The Kilo is truly made to be a expedition bag. The insulation and protection is great. The price is great. | |
