GREAT Jacket! | |

| Like the previous reviewer said, it's tough to find Tall jackets and ones that fit right is also a challenge. The Large Tall fits perfectly on my long armed 6'4" frame. The fleece is heathered like a Polartec Thermal Pro material (though they don't officially call it that, but that's what this Polartec fleece is), so it's high lofting on the inside but heathered on the outside like a sweater--much more elegant than your normal fleece material. Having that smoother outer surface also helps tremendously for not attracting lint and hair. And if it does get on you, you simply brush it away MUCH easier than a normal fleece. As to warmth, this 200 weight jacket is GREAT. The high loft traps air much better than 200 weight fleece and since it's heathered it breathes much better. You can sleep in it without overheating. On the flips side, it's breathability means you'll feel a stiff frigid wind come through (as is common with any non-wind shielded fleece). Because of its attractiveness and warmth, I use it primarily as a cardigan sweater in my cold house or as a layer when it's frigid outside. The sleeves are long and that crucial for me as a tall guy. The length covers almost the entire but and is cut for an athletically fit body. The pockets are cozily fleeced. The zipper is sturdy and strong. The jacket/sweater also has two open inside pockets so put gloves/wallet or and open inside. Since those inner pockets are open sided, I'd be careful with my wallet when taking the jacket off. Which leads me to my ***only RECOMMENDATION*** that in next year's model, they add a zippered pocket on the inside for versatility (not outside in order to no add more of the "jacket look"). All in all, it's an attractive, well fitting (for us tall guys), and above all warm, breathable fleece jacket that can serve as a jacket (not enough pockets though), mid layer, or in my case, cardigan sweater. Don't think about it anymore, just buy it! | |

good jacket, but why no color choices? | |

| I bought this jacket for my brother for Christmas, because he is 6'5" and it's tough to get jackets long enough in the sleeves for him that aren't tent-like. The Muir Woods jacket is a bargain compared to other fleece jackets on the market and is one of few to come in tall sizes. I would have given this a 5 star rating, but why on earth is this only offered in black?! Tall people would like to wear interesting things, too. Come on, REI, why not offer at least one other color option? | |

Nice-looking fleece | |

| There are not many fleece jackets for tall people out there, so it's a good thing REI makes this product. Both torse and sleeves are plenty long (even on my 6'7" frame). The chest fit is snug-ish, which is exactly what I was looking for. The outside has a ribbed surface (like very course corduroy), which looks much more appealing than the standard fleece look. I can't speak on the durability and/or usability; I've only worn it inside so far. But it seems to me to be a great product! | |

Great Jacket | |

| I really like this jacket. I am 6'2" and there are not many fleece options in tall sizes. I am a normal build and ordered the large tall. I feel that someone a few inches taller could still use this jacket. The fit is a little snug, but this is what you want if you are layering, or just don't like baggy clothes. It is plenty warm enough for temps down to the 50's but I don't think I would go any lower without something else in combination. | |
