Can't live without it

Rating:*****
I bought mine because the plastic water bottles should not be used and re-used. I also did not want to keep on buying bottled water to stuff the landfill.

The wide mouth ones are the best; easy to fill up, to wash, and purifier friendly. It doesn't break or leak. I put mine in the freezer all the time to have cold water all day (use a Built NY 32oz tote to keep the ice good for a whole day and no sweating bottle).

I don't use it for tea steeping but I pour hot steeped tea in it many time for faster cooling.

There's no odor or funny taste no matter how long the plain water has been in it (I have one in the car at all times).

With a splashguard to keep the ice cubes at bay and prevent water from splashing, I can drink it anywhere, any time, and under any condition.

I use my bottles so often that my friends know that where I go, my Nalgene bottle goes.

One for freezer, one for fridge, one for car, one for gym bag, one for work, one for 24-7.....I will never go back to plastic water bottle again.

Indestructable!

Rating:*****
Holy krap, this thing will not break!
I had one fall out of a pocket on the way down the steep cliff at Mooney Falls, probably a 100' tumble, and it bounced off a rock (luckily did not hit any people), ricocheted sideways and SURVIVED. Just a few scratches.
I had another that I set on the wheel of a giant (and fully packed) Dodge Ram 1500 and forgot about it. When the truck went forward we felt a bump like we went over a rock. I remembered my bottle and jumped out to check on it. Again, only a few scratches! Still shows the numbers down the side.
And as far as flavor retention, I have never had an issue with the lexan bottles. We made kool-aid in one of the soft plastic nalgenes and I can still taste it, but I have never tasted anything in the new ones after a washing.
These bottles are awesome!

Best Hiking Water Bottle around!

Rating:*****
This bottle is the best thing on the market. It fits perfectly into nearly every backpack's bottle holders. This bottle retains the temperature of its contents very well, and does not suffer under brutal impacts. In addition, they have set the standard for the looks of water bottles.
Other imitations try to make cool designs, and use metal materials that dent when they are simply bumped into, but not the Nalgene! I have dropped them off the side of the mountain, and yes they survive without any damage.
When shopping for the right bottle to take with you on the stroll, to work, on a wilderness adventure, go for the Nalgene.

Superior Product

Rating:*****
There is no reason to choose a Camelbak Better Bottle over the Nalgene Classic. Both are now BPA free. The Nalgene product is easier to clean and is made in the USA. It is also compatible with many other products such as water purifiers and backpacks. Many of those items are designed specifically to be used in concert with the 32 ounce Nalgene design. Lastly, the Nalgene is a few dollars less expensive.

Great Bottle

Rating:*****
I work outdoors everyday, and on the weekends I like to hike. I never go a day without one of my Nalgene bottles. I've put all sorts of flavored drinks, ice cold coffee and hot tea in mine. Every time I put water in it though, it still tastes just like water. No flavors are retained. Works as well as the old Nalgenes.

Good bottle

Rating:****
This bottle is very good, its durable and is very easy to clean because you can put a sponge inside and get rid of all the build-up. The down side of this bottle would be when drinking it quickly it splashes everywhere which isn't something we all like. Overall its pretty good.

Great Bottle

Rating:****
Very easy to clean, and it's hard to lose the top because it is attached to the bottle. I only wish they had more colors to chose from.

Nalgene is number one

Rating:*****
I bought one Nalgene bottle years ago for a 112 mile treck in New Mexico and I still use the same bottle almost every day.

Negative Reviews:

Retains Iodine Flavor! Maybe others?

Rating:**
Gimme back the old Nalgene bottles! I used iodine and neutralizing tablets on a recent trek, and even after washing the bottle several times and using it a couple weeks with tap water, water from the bottle tastes of iodine (although the treated water didn't taste of iodine on the trek.) Now I wonder if the new plastic will retain other flavors as well.
