Works well, but hardware is heavy

Rating:****
I'm using this coupler when I hike with my two large dogs - 60 and 75#. The hardware is heavy enough to handle their strength, but seems too heavy relative to the lightweight shock cord. I checked both the product tags and manufacturer's web site for a weight limit, and couldn't find any, so I decided to keep it but I'm watching for signs of premature wear. The design does prevent most tangles, and each dog has a bit of room to sniff without the other, but you do have to watch to make sure they don't start to tangle. It is well made, as is true with all the Ruffwear products I've purchased. If you've never walked dogs on a coupler, this is a good one to try. Not all dogs will handle it.

Maybe with some practice...

Rating:****
Once we got out the door and moving we had a nice walk. I have a pair of Doodles, one medium 45# and one small 15#. We bought the large coupler which accomidated their height difference well. The item is very well made. I was impressed with the quality. I would like to buy the collars and lead to match now. Don't expect to walk out the door with great success but maybe with some practice and training it is better than 2 leads.

Best option I've found to walk 2 dogs at once.

Rating:*****
This would be awesome if my dogs walked better. I have a full grown dog and a puppy. The big dog does well with an occasional snap on the chain, but you cant do that with this, do to the elasticity and the other dog pulling. But, that is my dogs fault, not the equipment. Its still the only way I would want to walk them both at once.

No dog left behind!

Rating:*****
Great for walking a pair of high-spirited dogs -- they aren't too tightly coupled, but this device seems to help them have a calming effect on each other. The dogs take to it quickly and enjoy the springiness of the leads, but they don't try to pull too much. I liked it so much, I got two more to offer as premiums for our kennel club show.

Great

Rating:*****
I love the knot-a-coupler dog lease. I can now take both my large breed dogs for a walk at the same time and they do not get tangled at all. After the first couple walks, they learned how to walk with each other instead of the bigger dog trying to pull the smaller dog along. Thanks for a great product!

The only way to walk my two brutes

Rating:*****
I have two large Labs and this thing works great. It's amazing to watch how the Knot-a-Coupler works to keep both dogs side by side. Used in conjunction with the Web Master harness and Knot-a-Long leash, it is the only way to walk two large working dogs.

Love this brand!

Rating:****
I love this brand. This thing is stretchy. Not so good for me but I still use it. (I bought it too small, oops). I would prefer it not stretchy. I am very happy with it none the less. Always excellent construction from this company.

Great product.

Rating:*****
Makes it much easier to walk two large dogs. Swivels so they don't get tangled. One of the dogs tends to lunge when frightened so the slight stretch in the coupler keeps me from being pulled over.

great solution to walking two dogs

Negative Reviews:

Gonna pass on this one

Rating:**
The only thing that made me purchase this item was the fact that the website stated that 2 dogs of any size could be walked at the same time. I have a 1 1/2 yr old Doberman (well trained) and a 4 1/2mo old Rottweiler (currently being trained) and I couldn't wait for the coupler to arrive. Both dogs "walk nice" on separate leashes but the idea of having one hand free while walking them made me happy. I've been walking my dogs with the coupler for 2 wks now and unfortunately I am not impressed at all. The first few days our walks were quite sloppy because the dogs had to get used to walking side by side as opposed to one on each side of me. I didn't give up, I kept trying hoping things would get better...they didn't. My dogs keep crisscrossing each other, the little one keeps ending up under the big one and if one dog gets excited (by another dog or squirrel or decides they want to chase a leaf blowing in the wind) the other dogs automatically gets going too and the tugging motion on my arm is not a pleasant experience. So for now I'm going to hang up the coupler and continue walking them on separate leashes. Perhaps when my puppy is a little older and bigger this will be the leash of my dreams. But for now I'm gonna pass.

Works for collars. . .

Rating:***
This works great for collars, but not so great for gentle leaders...and maybe not so great for Great Danes? I imagine it would serve its purpose for average to small size dogs.

best for medium sized dogs

Too bulky for my papillon dogs. Not easy to stow.
